I don't know about you, but when I fight no less than 200 enemies in the same damn place, I certainly get stimulated.
It was shown that when people play computer games, different parts of the brain work, and people are somewhat different in their perception of the world. Moreover, the andrenaline rush can be huge.
I didn't really witness too much of that. If you want to see a real pain in the ass, try Serious Sam. A mere +2 health vial will cause about 300 monsters to spawn and attack you.
Just to nitpick, this was done on purpose. The designers wanted you to not be greedy. Heck, on one side there are 3 big healths, on the other single +2 health vial. Isn't that a big suspicious?
Also SeriousSam and Doom3 are completely different in style. SSam was created based on the ORIGINAL Doom gameplay, big rooms with lotsa monsters. And imho, did an excellent job and was underrated.
Yes. This bug still apears in 1.0PR. It comes from the ability to view the site while not all of the data was already downloaded. In case images don't have their size properties, it assumes a default value and forgets to update it when the data appears.
To fix, simply ctrl- and ctrl+ to change font size and it'll fix the layout.
Much more important than sticking them next to the parent, is that you can tell it to make EVERY new page open in a new TAB instead of horribly adding a new window. Tab re-ordering is also very nice, and don't forget the undo function!
alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.disney is _NOT_ hentai. It's toon sex and it's yucky, low quality material. The high quality hentai pics don't compress well with PNG anyways, as they have soft shading which is very pleasant to watch.
NOW I get it! Browsing with the TAB key --> TABbed browsing! That's just brilliant! Now MS can say IE innovates and adds TABbed browsing! Oh?? That's not tabbed browsing?
"If you like an artist, I mean REALLY like an artist, you will be happy to pay for their music."
Sure, i'll be happy to pay _THEM_. I'm very unhappy to pay a lot of money on a CD and most of it goes to untalented people in suits that take huge sums of money compared to how hard they worked for it, instead of going mostly to the artists.
Reminds me of the ADV vs mirkx case. (ADV = big anime licenser in the US. mirkx = anime torrent site).

Through our Internet monitoring program, we recently discovered unauthorized use of our Protected Work in connection with your website (mirkx.com) (the "Site"). Specifically, the Protected Work is being offered for Internet download, copying and distribution through a Bit Torrent server, and potentially through a File Transfer Protocol server.
Our intellectual property rights are our most valuable assets. In order to promote a cooperative and beneficial relationship with fans, ADV prefers to send out written requests such as this first, rather than institute litigation or request that your ISP disable your Site. Notwithstanding the foregoing, unauthorized copying and distribution of ADV's protected works (including images) constitutes an infringement of one or more of ADV's rights under the copyright laws of the United States, Canada and other jurisdictions throughout the world. Applicable law provides for substantial penalties for such infringement, including injunctive relief, attorney's fees, and damages. ADV has instituted litigation in the past, and in every such litigation, ADV prevailed. If necessary, ADV will not hesitate to take such action again to insure that its rights are fully protected.
Therefore, without limiting any right, remedy or defense available to us, ADV MUST ASK THAT YOU IMMEDIATELY:
1) Delete and cease all further use of the Protected Work, and any other unauthorized ADV works, from the Site.
2) Remove and delete all copies of the Protected Work, and any other unauthorized ADV titles, from any other distribution channel owned, operated or otherwise controlled or accessible by you or those to whom you grant access including other web sites, FTP servers, web-based storage services, peer-to-peer systems and the like (each of the foregoing being a "Channel").
3) Remove and delete all references, pointers and hypertext links pertaining to infringing copies of the Protected Work from all such Channels.
If you are unsure of whether any other titles related with your Site are ADV Protected Works, or you would like to be more pro-active in your awareness of our licensed titles for future reference, please check with the official ADV site www.advfilms.com or our customer service department.
We also ask that you please advise us in writing within five (5) days from the date of this notice as to whether you will comply with our request so that we can determine whether any additional action will be required beyond this point. I trust this will receive your prompt attention, and if there is anything I can help you with in future, please let me know.

MirKx.com is not under North American's laws. It is unfortunate that this Site is available in North America, since it has only been made for Comoro Islands' inhabitants, where mirKx.com is acting from. Moreover, the referenced international copyright laws don't apply, since the Comoro Islands:
- didn't sign the International Berne Convention of 1886
- is not a state member of the WIPO.
MirKx.com is acting as an AUTOMATIC index of links, and the Protected Work you make reference to are NOT hosted on this server. If y
But has many drawbacks: 1. The length of the pad/key needs to be the same as the encrypted data. 2. It may be only used once, therefore the two sides need to meet to exchange pads, continuously.
If the sides to need to be in contact to agree on the pad, then the sides can pass the information already. If you pass the pad encrypted, you need a method of encrypting it, and you enter an endless loop.
Yup... no mention except for this paragraph, from the article (emph mine):
A second leg of that campaign is bearing fruit this year, as a wave of Windows-based entertainment hardware comes to market. Some of these will be portable devices, dubbed Portable Media Centers, running a slimmed-down version of Windows that includes
Microsoft's new Janus copy-protection tools. This technology is expected to give a boost to subscription services by allowing the music to be put on portable devices for the first time.
Honestly, though, I think no full-length anime film can ever come close to a full-length anime series with 26~ episodes. Sure, the movie can be amazing and very cinematic, but 1.5-2 hours is not enough time to build a character with the sophistication some anime builds them. Sure, movies can build very complex ideas and characters (regardless if it's JP or US movie/series) but usually it makes you think "well, that's a character I only seen for the first time an hour ago..." instead of learning about the character from 10-20 episodes, in many different situations and mini-stories.
Ofcourse, this applies to movies vs series regardless of their origin and ofcourse there are also stupid, shallow series and good, complex movies.
I'm using the table, it has a fine wooden texture, which should be a decent texture for the mouse. More than likely that you don't move it fast enough. Every time i'm trying a new mouse (usually at friends' house), I ask them if it has this problem. They say no and I tell them to do this, for them it works. But when I move it, it's again stuck. Specifically try moving it left to right, not a big movement, but rather a subtle, fast movement.
But it DOES make a difference. I can't count how many times i've been fragged online and even in single player FPSs just because I tried to move the mouse very fast to aim on a target behind me and the mouse didn't register the fast movement, but rather a slow movement, TO THE OTHER DIRECTION. Try it yourself, take almost any optical mice (except maybe some high-end dual-eye logitechs) and move it really fast (twitch speed) to some direction, it will usually not register it correctly.
Yes. And i'm not even talking about security. I can't live without tabbed browsing. I hate the way IE handles downloads (seperate windows). I hate that when IE crases (every browser crashes), when I try to kill it, it'll take the taskbar with and all other file explorer with it. I hate the way scrolling is handled. ("smooth scrolling" = parkinson like movement) Backspace = back in history is ANNOYING. Writing a non url in the url bar goes to MSN. And the list goes on...
Every time I'm forced to use IE, it pisses me off in one way or another.
It's exactly what you describe. It's (theoritically) a system that allows you to easily download patches and updates automatically for certain games (right now only Half-Life based games). Also it allows you to buy certain games ONLINE for download. One of the methods for purchasing Half-Life 2 is a download through steam, whenever you want, using your unique ID.
It's more than currently written on the site and rumors say they plan to make it even larger and expand the number of games supported to games other than Valve's.
Worth noting that many people don't like it, because it's not yet stable and fast, but Valve have hired one Bram Cohen to write parts of the distribution code.
Yes, it's propertiary. Yes, it's currently slow. Yes, many people inherintly dislike the new system. But, yes, this is an alternative way from the standard methods of game distribution.
"Microsoft is very serious about addressing security concerns"
Just like everyone remember Microsoft about 2-3 years back saying they are now (then) becoming serious about security and it'll show very soon. Those 2-3 years have passed and what have changed? Not much.
Not too stimulating?!?!

My bad, this applies to Windows.
Try this which was written here by another poster. I believe a similar solution exists for the other direction.
Set FFox and TBird as the default Browser and MailProgram respectivly, and it should work.

So my next mouse will be a LogitechMX ;)

Actually it's "post-thrice-spellcheck-zero-times dept."
It was posted again 4 hours after the first time, but got pulled out.

That's also correct.
Both cases are similar, cases where no one really believes this will happen.
