Also, it might be noted that Gestures and Pie Context have alot in common, because getting to the right menu is a kind of gesture, but you also have feedback on what is going to happen.
"When we face a choice between adding features and resolving security issues, we need to choose security."
They need to choose security, but they choose other things. Here you see that they agree that they programs lack security and they understand that they need to fix it. The facts of what they have actually done are different.
A server and bandwidth cost alot of money. But the combination of a server and P2P could do the trick. Things like BitTorrent can really be useful here.
The parent is modded funny, but it's not funny, it's cold truth.
The RIAA is after money, money from people who buy their CDs, their CDs are merchendised, made for people to buy _NOW_, it gets boring fast, people buy more short-lived CDs.
If people hear good music, old music, obscure bands, they understand how bad the RIAA supported "music" is ==> CD sale loses, and that's what they are trying to prevent.
Many of the games are in pro-q3tourney4 (Vertical Limit II) which doesn't even HAVE the LG. And if you want to get YOUR facts straight, you should know the RG is used more than the LG. RG is used more than RL in maps without LG.

Not to be a troll, but this is my view on this:
I understand from your words: "If you can't fight them, join them." Read, if they can bribe politicians, why can't we?
How can you be sure that the politician the money goes to doesn't ask for more and give less than expected? How are you even sure there is a politician that is willing to help?
A politician recieves money, and then recieves more money from a different corporation, he acts for the big corporation and all the money spent has been lost.
If there is some politician that will aid in this, fine... If there isn't, the money would be better spent donating to Free/Open Software companies/organizations that really need the money to help and not just a slight chance that the politician will stay on "our" side.
As most iD games, it'll be written in OpenGL but with tons of extensions, this will change when OpenGL 2 is finally out and kick DX from it's place.
Something like this was posted ages back and he was playing Counter-Strike.....
Again, that's the magic circle...
Windows has more users, companies write progs for windows, people see there are more things for Windows than for Linux and stick with Windows, repeat.
Obviously, but that's only for training.

This is a first alpha..
Remember the Ogg Vorbis first alpha? The sound had alot of glitches and it wasn't as good as Mp3, now it is.
I agree that video is alot harder than audio, but I trust community to get it as good and even better than DivX.
What your mean is something as simple Oggdrop. A small box, a few settings, drop a wav in it and you got an ogg. Simplicity at it's best.

Slashdot newsflash: "Spelling mistakes attack Headlines too and not only content!"
You are a geek, you can't possibly have a girlfriend.
"...and declared that the only computer systems that will be able to play CDs manured after..."
Probably a typo but such a true comment on the RIAA supported "music"...
More fast mirrors...

Isn't the simplest solution making the maze dark and let the player hold a lightsource/torch?
The only downside here is that dynamic light calculation is slow.
Yet the website is crashing here on earth...
Quote from the story:
"a similar Microsoft developed for Oklahoma..."
Wasn't a single Microsoft enough?? They are now developing another one????
