With Firefox, not only do i not use plugins, i remove some of the functions it comes with. There's this whole assortment of buttons i never use that i remove. All those silly foreward, back, stop buttons, does anyone really use them? Foreward i can't remember using at all, back i used to do with backspace, but now that i have my new mouse i don't even do that.
My browser is basically the address bar, the link bar and the non-removable one.
It's obviously a hash of the picture, when the old owner saw he had errors in downloading (Picture in reverse) he just left it in the download dir and forgot all about it.
I've been noticing that alot since i started playing America's Army. A while ago i played a bit of Delta Force: Blackhawk Down at a friend's house, i was standing right infront of this guy who was shooting at me and i hardly got hurt, while in AA you are likely to get killed for peeking around the corner for more than a second. Granted, it's real players Vs. AI, but still...
Movies like these are clearly aimed at children, with their cute and fuzzy characters. You may find a few whitty lines, but the main idea is to make a movie that would make parents take their kids to the cinema and then buy movie-related merchendise.
The thing about making a movie that is not limited to one demographic is that if you spread it thin enough to entertain the masses, it won't be very insightful in any particular area.
Technology in weapons can lead to implementations in other ways. War has played a large part in technological development. Necessity being the mother of invention and all that.
If google is so keen on controlling so much internet information, the blog thing, the eMail thing, the search engine thing, why not offer a free webhosting service?
If they can spare 1Gb for free eMail, i'm sure they could operate a quality webhosting service.
Actually, McDonalds does sell cheeseburgers in Israel. I just depends on the religious makeup of the city. You might not get one in Jerusalem, but if you go to, say the central bus station in Tel-Aviv you could certainly feast yourself on cheesy goodness.
The first obvious thing many people point out is that a 3D interface needs a 3D input device. The most comfortable input device in my opinion is one of those data-glove things which let you use your hands.
I'm thinking that if you start out with a few specialized applications like a painter program or a sculpting program (3D modelling), maybe integrate the interface into games then you might later extend it to general interfaces after people get used to them.
By the way, i started making one of those gloves in highschool, only got to the stage of moving the fingers and basic grabbing, didn't have time to implement movement sensors, but i'm thinking you could make one work for around the price of a cordless mouse...
I don't think this will be replacing my paperbacks anytime soon.
eInk is great and all for replacing LCDs or enhancing billboards, but when i'm reading a book i want to feel the texture of the paper.
I wanted to do something like this for my highschool project in computers.
Didn't have the time to do the movement part, but we've made the figers move and grab/drop a 3D object (A ball with an Earth texture.. =P) using the mouse to move it...
I'd say it's pretty nice for a highschool project where i had to learn VB and DirectX, while me and my partner also had to figure out how to make the hardware for the fingers...
Here are some screencaps of the hand from the program if anyone is interested: http://www.deviantart.com/view/198867 7/
Was i the only one thinking "el topher (Score:5, Married)" when reading this?

It was originally named Panias, for Pan, it morphed to Banias because the indigenous arabs had a hard time pronouncing the letter P.
Ahh, the silly trivia you learn on school trips.

Something along the lines of:
"Program X parses 23.5 Libraries of congress per fortnight, a 1.32 Linus Productivity increase over Program Y"
"...the estimates are that Linus has been 10x more productive with BK." Does that mean we have a new unit of measurement for benchmarking?
That made me think, how about donating your processor time to render a movie and then getting a discount on the ticket for it?
Does that mean learning VB damages your brains' visual centers?

Microsoft's FAT patent?
I didn't know Microsoft patented Ballmer.

Am i the only one who read "Microsoft Spy Planes" and was not surprised?

The other group is name XFree86 though, you should adjust the name to reflect that... Something like "Free XXX" would be more appropriate...
Hmm... interesting..
I wonder how it would look if you used this to render metals and other reflective materials...
Umm, that's Leto and Ghanima. Named after the fremen word for spoil of war.
Only the vault-dweller can save us from this great meance. =o
Hmm.. I wonder... If you had 2.2M card numbers and you took $0.2 from each card, would you be noticed ?
