humans are parasites bound to destroy themselves and take everything with them. complete and utter human genocide is the only hope this world has. unfortunately, the majority of us foolishly think that humans are important and humanity/human pride always takes the cake. it makes me sick. we don't deserve to be alive
So your real computer buddies will see the box and think you are still worth talking to but you can still be 'in' with the lamers of the mac boi groupy squad.
Thats correct. Shortly after the northern seal hunt was banned, a not for profit colony of well spoken penguins lead by 'Tux' offered Linux as a show of good faith for stopping the slaughter.
The older castle sets did kick ass. I remember salivating over the Sears Wishlist Catalogue for hours while looking at the medieval and sci fi Lego back in the mid 80's. The castles then were bigger and more complex as I remember. My one grudge was that every 1 or 2 years there seemed to be a completely new series and the old stuff was impossible to find all of a sudden...
Perhaps Adobe should mimic the approach that Alias uses with Maya. Offer it free for non-commercial use. Then they wouldn't be wasting resources on useless security measures.
Yes, you should have RTFA. It wasn't describing tournaments or prize money as anything new but rather explaining that in south korea people are SPONSORED to play the games in tournaments. The gamers play on a team the is owned by a company.
Livejournal requires a person to either pay for their account or acquire an invitation code. The codes are obviously crackable but after one is used it is discontinued so it is alot harder to do what you suggest than one would assume.
Another solution is to dissallow anonymous comments. Although thats not always a prefered option, if a persons account is suffering from spam posts it is a small compromise.
I've noticed a few people respond already that multicore processors should've have been around sooner and what not but I think the timing isn't all that bad. Consider the amount of extra heat that multicore processors may generate. Water cooling products are one the rise and I'm betting that they'll be common place (or at least on the verge of being the norm) by 2005, if not sooner. That could work out well for AMD's new chips, especially remembering some of the heat problems they've faced in the past.
That said I think multicore AND watercooling should have been around way before they are.
Firewalls are totally overrated, they're almost like a buzzword that won't die. They are just a deterrant and can be owned up faster than most people would expect.
Does this 'security' software simply disallow regular ripping or monitor the use of the wma files.. if its not the latter then someone can simply convert to a different format... also, i wonder if while playing the disc in a PC, is there an EULA that must be agreed to before the software is installed??? if not, there are a multitude of work arounds to the software (legally), not to mention how quickly this software will be reverse and compromised anyway.
I do agree though, to a small degree, that this is at least a step in a better direction than has previously been persued.

Ambitious digital do-it-yourselfers don't buy prebuilt hp, dell or other computers and would make their own all-in-one remote from the garage worth of scrap electronics they've accumulated.
no, i'm with you.
but what can be done, really

Bwahahahahahaa
Well, since everyone outside the US are terrorists it stands to reason that he wouldn't want them getting their dirty hands on his infoz.
That was a great article. One of the best I've read recently regarding games of late.

"No more music on the way into the office?" Buy/Burn CD's :P
My big question regarding e-voting is will a person still be able to 'scratch' vote if they are so inclined?
Sega used to try and beat everyone to the punch as well, look where it got them.

You mean Cerberus. Cerebron is a medical term meaning: A nitrogenous body, related to cerebrin, supposed to exist in the brain.

Nothing much has really changed, its just more obvious now.
