  1. Re:Moderators on crack? on ZDNet Australia Interviews Richard Alston · · Score: 1

mate uve got more screws loose than my vcr in the workshop! If you had noticed anything we actually have one of the most STRONGEST economies in the world. Unlike the good ol` US of A, our economy is growing, not shrinkin coz of good oleee geeeorge dubya bush! Heck atleast we can say we have a car industry, a thriving health system, low crime(much less lunatic to high-school shooting ratio), a drought tolerant system in place for our farmers (which incidentely we're actually going thru a drought). Heck us aussies supported you in afghanistan...with our meagre 3rd world SAS troops which kick ass! now for a 3rd world country with a better education system that doesnt preference those with money or sporting abilities, but more those with intellectual abilities im pretty sure that going by all these facts that you sir are a TOOL who dont know shyte! hehe ;P

exactly right. Me personally i think thats its probably better to devalue something thats free already (ala linux) than to take what meagre money i can scrap together as a working mcse these days by some fool import that works for jack all! I see it every day with some guy walkin off the street claiming he can work for 1/2 the price, but reality is that u only get what u pay for(ie a guy who has less comunication skills than an expert system on a pc). Buy a hyundai and u get cheap shit...get a mercedes and u buy quality! In the end....somebody's gotta pay for the software to be written, most linux software starts off as an "alternative" to what already is out there as a pet project. Sorry to be very nieve about this topic but it started with other industries that went to asia that got turned into a commodity...

atleast they are giving all these technologies "devalued" by other companies and organisations - p2p, linux, etc - a shot...and they are making a wad of cash at the same time. Its great to see that a large corporation like ibm see what us "hackers, warez kiddies and 3l33t folks" have been using for quite a long time! They contribute alot and give it back to the community, just like sun and others like them do. Heck if your makin money off somtehing free, wouldnt it be "morally" right to give something back!

sysprep 1.1 that you can download from microsoft for free (yes free!) fixes most problems associated with cloning nt4/2k/xp machines. We use it just before we are about to clone a machine to deploy a series of machines in our schools. It resets sids then when the machine is "rebooted" it then does a mini setup which asks the user to enter their name, license, etc etc and re-does the setup. There are only a couple problems with it and that are you cant expect an image to go from one type of machine (ACPI) and expect it to work on a different type of machine (APM) and to get any scsi hdd or ide raid controllers working they have to be pre-installed with sysprep but there are ample instructions to do so.
