Your own statement right there provides you with a hint. X-Wing/Tie Fighter series were movie based games and they were amazing games. But even beyond the Star Wars Franchise.

EA's Lord of the Ring games (notably the Two Towers and to a lesser extent Return of the King) were good quality games. Hell the Two Towers dev team but the game to work in the Forgotten Realms game, "Demon Stone" that came out a little bit ago which was fun as well.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was a really good game (based on a wonderfully fun bad movie).

The CEO probably said, "find somewhere to dispose of the stuff", if the CEO was even that involved. So how far down the line do you go? How about the truck driver who dumped the chemicals? What if he was told by his boss to dump them and he thought the company had permission? Then how far up the line do you go? To Judy in Accounting who was supposed to file a permit but left early that day and never got around to it?

Thats why we treat corporations as an entity, because sometimes it's hard to find a person reasonably responsible.

If it's something obvious like stealing money from the company, ok, that guy should be charged individually. However, for alot of "corporate" acts, the lines will tend to blur on who exactly is responsible.

Dimebag died because of a lunatic. Dimebag did not die because of a "fan". The lunatic happened to be a fan, but that was the least of his issues. If Pantera never existed, he's insanity would have manifested elsewhere. He was hospitalized previously.

This guy believed Pantera was stealing his song lyrics and his identity. He didn't just go, "wow, my favorite band broke up, I need to shoot this guy". He was mental. It's sorta like a guy thinking the TV is talking to him. You don't go, "wow, this guy is a huge TV fan".

"Tom Clancy's Ops Center", "Tom Clancy's Power Plays" and a host of other bad books that just tarnish his brand.

This game has his name on it because it came out of his game studio (Red Storm entertainment which was bought by UbiSoft). It's just one more product he "branded" without having to do the work.

Plus he isn't a screen writer. Tom Clancy's books are great fun books, but I've yet to see him produce a screenplay. Writing a novel, and writing a script are two different things. Notice how none of the movie adaptations of Tom's books feature him with a screenplay credit.

What you should be looking at here is the game writer on the writing team. He's the one who should get credit for the story. He's the one who should have his name plastered on the game.

Tom also pretty much loathes the video games as well. His comments have been anything but warm on video game subjects. He'll plaster his name on them because they sell.

The facts are people throw around alot of money that time of year. People receive holiday bonuses and are generally out shopping. Companies want their products out there as fresh, hot, new games to intice people to buy them.

North Korea can not do this, the US simply has too many nukes in too many places. If their nuke program has actually evolved into weapon form, they could take out South Korea, which would prompt such international outrage, that they'd have death descend on them.

Right now North Korea's nuke program is one of protection. They say, "we have nukes, don't fuck with us" so we take a second look at them before deciding to strike at them.

Biological and chemical agents are tricky, but the international reprocussions of using them is too great for them to be anythign but a last line of defence idea.

The PS2 hardware is also alot older than both the gamecube and the xbox. It came out first. The reason why it continues to sell so much isn't marketing. When was the last time you saw a comerical for a PS2? The reason why the console sells is because of games. It has a HUGE library of games. People still buy the inferior product because it has the games people want.

The only marketing the PS2 gets is from all the games that continue to come out for it. That is the lesson to be learned here. Marketing will not make the system. Games will. If the system comes out with a mess of games, games that people want to play, then it will be a success.
