Yeah, the only problem with that is if you were fighting a war against the U.S. you would be lucky to have a couple 1960's holdover artillery cannons that your cousin smuggled out of Russia. You'd probably also be outmanned and outgunned about 100 to 1 so the option of surrounding the enemy to fire your artillery wouldn't be open to you. That is, if you're anything like the "opponents" in our last several "wars".
In my state the builders supply stores have to give you a "notice of intent to lien" or something like that. Basically it says that they are reserving their right to put a lien on your property if you don't pay for your materials. I believe if they didn't give you the notice BEFORE they gave you credit, they're SOL.

I agree. Furthemore I don't think you WANT to go making the locomotive TOO light because traction will become a problem... You're talking about steel wheels on a steel track, the huge weight of a locomotive is the only reason there's enough friction to keep the wheels from spinning in place.
Would you really want to spend the REST OF YOUR LIFE as a fugitive to avoid a 33 month sence in a minimum security country club? Keep in mind that this would mean that you basically couldn't reside in not only the U.S., but in countries with visa reciprocity agreements as well, and that's a long list. So basically your choice is 33 months in prison, or a lifetime of not trying to draw attention to yourself as an American in a backwater third world country.
I think the confusion here is caused by the ambiguous definition of "sysadmin". I believe the sysadmin that Sun is shooting for is more the "set up and keep the big hardware running" type of sysadmin. Not the captain helpdesk guy who sets up pc's and fields stupid questions. If you're setting up desktops and workstations, I'd say your a help desk support person, not a sysadmin.
ummmm... Thats because in the "later years" you couldn't fit anything useful on a floppy and HDD drives were hudreds of times larger and many times faster. I know of no similarly priced alternative to current HDD's that fits these specifications. Do you? Floppys were replaced by better technology. Unfortunately I don't see that happening to Magnetic HDD's any time soon.
Yeah gee, that would be nice. Because then my always on account would only cost me.25c x 24hr x 30 days (ave) = $180 a month. Thats a pretty sweet deal, I'd drop my DSL in a heartbeat!
UT--that doesn't mean the public health department is gonna shut down the day after I take office. That doesn't mean the elementary schools are gonna close their doors.
I suppose I'm being pedantic, but christ. Why should I vote for anyone with such poor grammar?
Many grants come from private sources. My mother was a teacher and got a load of cool tech gadgets from a weather study grant once (digital cams, laptops, etc..) in the early 90's. The grant specifically stated that any materials/items bought with the grant were NOT to be given to the school system when the project completed. So she could keep them, sell them, eat them, whatever.
and instead there are going to have to focus on promoting concerts, t-shirts, and other things that can't be ripped from the web.
Yeah, until 3D Printing comes to the desktop... Then we can print whatever we want!
The point is, you can't hide from technology. It WILL find you. The RIAA is the embodiment of the ancient rich corporation who refuses to believe that the world has changed around them.
Doesn't matter if everyone is qualified. If they aren't their suggestions will be ignored by those who are, who also happen to be those who integrate the suggestions/new code.
If the CS department is worth a 1/2 a crap it doesn't really matter what language[s] they teach the classes in. The students should come away with a good solid foundation of general programming knowledge. Languages come and go, if a CS grad needs to know one they should be able to buy the reference and compare to their base of knowledge. Note: I'm not saying CS grads should be guru's in whatever language they choose after a day, but they should be able to get by.
I don't think you can really compare "a poor soul without health care in the US" with an untouchable living in their own filth in India. I don't think there are that many americans sleeping in pools of their own offal.
This may not be a popular opinion but I really don't think the majority of corporate users NEED a new pc very ofter. I'm a full time software developer and I'm perfectly happy with my "ancient" PII 400... Granted there are always exceptions to the rule, but for the most part I think new PC purchases should be scrutinized.
Aren't the real deals hard to fly? I think a lot of novices buy these because you don't have to be an expert to keep it from crashing down in a flaming heap....
Actually that cam is on Level Island in Southeast Alaska, just north of Ketchikan. To get an idea of the climate/amount of light think Seattle - 10 degrees. The Light is a bit trickier. In the summer ad an hour, in the winter take one away. But either way it's not dark 6 months a year.
There are only days of complete darkness above the arctic circle which is approximately 100 miles north of Fairbanks...
All of the "wars" america has handled in the last little bit were total one sided slaughters. It's not like if Iraq of Afganistan had an extra 2 weeks to prepare they would have "won"...
There's your chance to get rich. Develop a missile that can be fired from a 6" aircraft _AND_ do some damage and the airforce will throw cash at you like mad.

Yeah just what we need. Another "environmentally friendly" product that costs twice as much and works half as well...
Whoa there big guy. Since when did any software get smaller and faster as time went on?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught the lack of math skills. Maybe this guy should quit playing EQ and start going to school?

Because not everyone can afford to pay $400 for a cell phone?

Isn't the bar code the same on each bucket? It's the same product from the same company right?

Feed your own?
Or deny another the opportunity to better their life by a huge order of magnitude?
