    The only client of your application's data is your application. SQL is a standard, with prevayler the "language" your application speaks is very much proprietary and vague.

    In my opinion the way Hibernate does things is the way of the future!

    I used to think highly of PHP when I was using it for small tasks (creating a blog page and a half ass forum) but man oh man does it suck for doing big projects. In the enterprise marked, there really only one player I'd look to and that is Java. Everything else is really irrelevant. Yes Java has a steep learning curve but once you get ahead of the curve you are never going back to whatever you were using. Java + Eclipse is a deadly combination.

    how did they destroy it? they are bundling it and it is actually a useful tool for database design and their reverse engineering functionality is pretty nice (not always perfect but it cuts down on how much you have to do).

    How do you know it was on August and on the 27th?

    According to my calculations and if one assume Warp 9 is possible it happened 5000 years ago. I would give a more definitive date but the Julian calender starts at 4713 BC.

    This reminders me the ISO-9000 certification bullshit we did recently. We paid some stupid company to audit us and for what? Nothing! We were told what to say and what not to say. We were like drones and gave a standard answer. I did learn two thing from the experience though...keep it short and the interview won't last long and don't volunteer any information.

    Sun Tzu's old adage of the enemy of your enemy is my friend always applies, but in this case we know the enemy of your enemy will be tunning on you soon which is why you should strike down all your enemies and potential enemies as soon as possible.

    Yes well, you are still not unique. Everybody and their mother can buy the same face plates you can. If this Nokia thing takes of you might but I still doubt it.

    Asians are notorious for customizing their phones to death...those neon/blue lights just annoy me to death. They are an abomination and should be made illegal.

    If we could get all the geeks to wear gloves and wave their hands we would have less overweight geeks. Just think of the possibilities! They'd be able to get jobs at the FBI, the IT guy won't be huffing and puffing and all out of breath before he arrives at my desk, etc...

    I'm all for the glove...you should be able to burn 800 calories on an 8 hour work day.

    I think some people take this FPS thing way too seriously. 50fps without hiccups is all I really need.

    Speaking of graphic cars, I just purchased Madden 2004 and right after I bring it home I come to find out that it won't work with my GeForce 2 MX. I was planning on getting a card when HL2 cames out but it looks like I'm going to have to buy a card this weekend or next week. A GeForce FX 5200 is all I really need and that is all I'm going to get. It should last me for at least 2 years.

    I just tried the demo and aside from user interface changes, there is nothing new. I'm still waiting for the day when i can fly one of the damn ships myself on a mission and have one commander play the role of playing the game in RTS format.
