All you do is complain that there are patches to be applied and viruses to be taken care of, but in your next breath you are saying screw MS and write a virus. Get a life and stop writing such crap.

I must admit, yes Microsoft does has more money. But that is because they has a far better product. It is much easier to manage, you generally don't have to worry about the patches being written with a back door (yes I know linux is open source, but really, how many people can actually read the source code??? Not that many). There are many more usefull apps written for it. Need I go on???

The only reason there is so many problems is the shitheads out there that try to cause them. Look at the ways that people write viruses for windows, they are the most stupid exploits. MS should not be held responsable for this, it should be the virus writers.

Can you honestly tell me that there are no major security problems with linux??? I doubt it, it's just that when there is one it's not widely publicized because the majority of people are using windows so it is not newsworthy.

Yes, but at least it comes out with the updates it needs in a reasonable time. With linux you are depending on a bunch of people sitting in their garage, to come out with something that "may" work. At lease with MS there is responsibility in what they write.

God forbid that they are improving their software by including something that everyone needs. If all you stupid little hackers and programmers out there didn't try and attack the software then we wouldn't have this problem.

Also, a company is allowed to try and make money. The fact the MS used media player to download mp3s legally is a smart move for them. It gives users the ability to download some music without needing to dload a "special player" first.

Bill Gates going and buying the gov't may be a good thing... then there may be some punishment for people who dload pirated software, and for people writing viruses.

    just my 2 cents...

Can you honestly tell me that if it was your company making the os and you also made a media app that you wouldn't add it to your os as well??? I highly doubt it.

Competition is good. This is bad

I agree with you about the "Competition is good" part, however, the competition is about having a product that is better the media player. Personally, as a sys admin in a windows environment, we need to have Quicktime and Real player on our computers as media player doesn't do all the formats we need. So even though media player is on all the computers by default, we still have the other software.

With linux, are people not making software that will work with Real player files and Quicktime files??? Last time that I checked this is also taking away from those companies as all stuff in linux is open source and therefore free.
