    That list was more like "My favorite games". Starcraft didn't define the RTS genre, it was just a popular RTS game. Plenty of games before Starcraft defined what Starcraft would eventually become.

    same with all the other genres.

    I should have made it more clear that the games reference was an example. I think many of those 20% don't really understand what it would mean to switch from a Windows (I presume) system to a Mac. The undeniable limited game selection is one aspect of it, but also price and compatibility with many other major services/websites (that's a whole other conversation).

    Let me ask this. WHY are these people saying they'll switch? Because iTunes only works with Mac? No. Because Macs can do more than PCs? No. Ah, because Macs are cheaper? No.

    The iPod has nothing to do with security so that's most likely not a reason. It's just "I like this iPod thing so I must like Macs too!" Then the reality of it sets in.

    Never happen. As soon as that 20% realizes there's no games for that shiny Mac in the store window, they'll stay right where they are.

    Loud pipes do not save lives. The people that spout this nonsense are the same people that believe the helmets are dangerous because they block your hearing. Nevermind that the wind rushing past at 70mph is pretty freaking loud.

    If there's a biker with "loud pipes" coming up behind you, you're not going to hear him until he's past you anyway. Idiots with screechingly loud pipes make all of us riders look bad.

    Wow. What a way to live. Have you ever bought a new car? Do you ever plan too? Can you fly commercial airlines? Plane cabins stink. What about driving near pastures or out in the country in general. Do you have allergies, or just some super-sensitive snout? Do you complain when a movie theatre smells like feet, or do you avoid movie theatres because of your condition. I mean, if you spend this much time trying to make sure your desk is ok for your nose, it must be pretty serious. Do you claim ADA and get special stuff at work, or do you suffer though each day.

    Sounds like a geek ailment to me.

    I did say what I mean. There are too few gamers for it to be a worthwhile excercise to launch a linux version of any game on day 1. Once the game is deemed a success, then time and money can be spent distributing a linux version.

    Wasn't trolling, just saying that this won't change by 2006. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

    Nobody uses Linux. And by "nobody" I mean a small enough percentage for it to be not worth it.

    Why would Visa cancel your account unless you "validated" the account once a month? What if you're on a two month vacation? You lose your account? Why would Citibank send you an email saying "Unless you click this link and enter all your info, your credit card will expire!" If my card's about to expire, I get a new one in the mail. Be cynical and suspicious. It's healthy.
