I agree with your 8/10. I think most criticism of the game can be boiled down to the fact that it is hard to play and requires more than just the tutorial to figure things out...
Like knowing that the game autosaves when heroes appear on the world dominations screen. See that, go to WD map, hide your minions and you'll be fine. (they unhide themselves when it is safe) I spent little time on this map unless I was moving agents from one region to another to reduce the heat.
I wish the game had more of a storyline or that the EG had more uses, but otherwise it's an excellent and innovative game.
Hopefully the plan is to also force the athletes to eat the same crap. I bet those Kenyans won't be so fast after a super sized #1 meal!
Does anyone else find the idea of software scanning for anomalous behavior at what will most likely be a huge Greek party pretty funny? Ever been to a Greek party? (or at least seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding?)
It is being demonstrated Tuesday and Wednesday (July 27-28) during a three-day program featuring homeland security simulations aimed at improving how officials respond to terrorist attacks.
Maybe they could have left it up a few more days? We might need it pretty soon
I decided to show her that the new rubberized Lacie external 40G drives were pretty robust.
I banged it on the edge of the desk a few times (on the rubber bumper, while it was disconnected/unplugged) and said "see, it's protected against abuse"
Anyway, the comment that "the damage to the song is huge" by the publisher is absolutely false and demonstrably so.
When I saw the JibJab piece my first thought was "I don't own a copy of this song." I went to iTunes and picked up a few Woody albums and a single version of "This Land..." with Arlo and Woody.
I noticed the top search return for Woody Guthrie on iTunes was "This Land..." and the #2 and #3 most purchased Woody songs? "This Land" and an instrumental version of the same song. (#1 was City of New Orleans if anyone is wondering)
I wonder what the sales data on this tune and Woody's other stuff are recently? Doesn't the old adage that 'there's no such thing as bad publicity' seem to hold true here?
I wish I knew some latin to put in my post so that I might look smarter but alas, I don't. Do remember though, if you buy some of Woody's albums, caveat emptor, folk music from that long ago can sound scratchy at times.
While I think the OP was just flaming, I do see a point there. I don't understand how electric cars are a benefit to the environment.
Most electricity in the US is coming from coal fired plants which are pretty nasty in terms of burning fossil fuels. Maybe we should be like the French and more reliant on nuke plants? I dunno.
And then there are those batteries. Where do they go for disposal? How often are they replaced?
I don't think there is really any need for the vast majority of SUVs owned in the US, (or the aforementioned France which has recently found that SUVs are very popular there too) but until we get our electricty from some cleaner methods, I don't think electric cars are doing much good either.
I recently put together some older laptops for distribution by a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa. I received a great email from the end recipient, a Kenyan man named Jack. I've removed his full name for the sake of privacy.
Dear ALL,
Receive Warm Greetings from Kenya. My names are_________
I want to sincrerely thank you all for your generous donation for development work in Africa, Kenya. All of you played various roles that have resulted to a product, IBM Laptop, which has reached me to support my development work. I promise to update you in my endeavors with time.
What I do in Kenya
I work with an institution called Tropical Institute of Community Health and Development (TICH) in Africa situated in Kisumu City, a towm in Western part of Kenya near Lake Victoria; Nyanza Province.
I train and work with community health workers, widows, orphans, small scale business persons, farmers, water and sanitation workers, institutions, community based organizations at the grassroots. These I do to support the vulnerable and disadvantage members of the society majority of them living in rural and informal settlement sites (slums) in towns. I believe they have a right to live a dignified livelihood if our scarce resources can be mobilized and reallocated in the most equitable way.
It is a struggle always to try and keep with the pace of the community information and support without adequate facilities to store and process their information and technical support. Your donation, the laptop, will surely improve my efficiency and consistency in handling information that is so vital for decision making towards supporting the disadvantaged members of our society.
Just to clarify. Disney blocked the distribution of this film by Miramax. The chairmen of Miramax are purchasing the film from Disney so that they may distribute it privately.
This has happened before with Disney & Miramax, most recently with the Kevin Smith film "Dogma."
It probably would not be in theaters already even if Disney had not blocked it. Moore wants to add new content to the film prior to release to incorporate more recent events.
I hate the use of the flamebait mod sometimes.
This device has WAY too many buttons. Who could ever figure out what they mean while on the move much less sitting still.
Comparing this to the design of an iPod is insane. No comparison. One is sleek and well designed and the other looks like an engineers nightmare.
The bogus subpoenas, the big dollar threats and the low dollar settlements. It has more than a faint tinge of corruption. I hope she has a good lawyer.
It was with the Narnia Chronicles that I found my way into sci fi and fantasy reading at a very young age. As I got older my interest in sci fi lead to my playing with computers at my Dad's office. Now I'm 36 with a job I actually enjoy.
Part of me wishes Peter Jackson had the time to do these movies, but I think NZ is a fantastic choice for shooting. I can't wait.
Tell that to Burt Rutan, John Carmack and the other X-Prize competitors. Boeing sold just yesterday the first 7E7. Airbus will bring the A380 into service in 2006. The US military is bringing the F/A-22 into service right now.
Airplanes are not items that you simply throw away because you've been using it for 20 years. B-52 bombers are typically older than their crews and a small airline in Buffalo NY is still flying WW2 era cargo planes.
This is probably the most exciting time in aviation in the last 50 years.
I've been using it this week and like it quite a bit. My company has about 8 iTunes users on my local subnet and I have been "borrowing" all week long. It isn't exactly feature rich and you must start playing a song to make it available for download. Otherwise, it's nifty!
I'm not sure why this is modded "Funny" but I have never had this issue. I've sysprepped machines many times under Win XP and Win 2000 and never rendered it non-bootable.
Honestly that would impress me, I woulda figured Dubya to be a WebTV man myself.
Much more important than the wheel is the fact that the Michelin Man has a name! Bibendum. Now THAT'S stuff that matters.

It all looked pretty anomalous to me.

I should have thought more about muggings though. Do they require a weapon?
I banged it on the edge of the desk a few times (on the rubber bumper, while it was disconnected/unplugged) and said "see, it's protected against abuse"
The drive was dead from that moment on.

The DVD is to be released in November of this year according to www.bsg2003.com
As long as Aunt May doesn't get suttee, that is.

Two words, "Reveal Codes" Gawd I wish Word had this feature.
What do they put out? The Little Rascals?
IANL, obviously.

Since that link leads to a VB error on an ASP page, my guess is they really need the help!
Unfortunately not. Looks like Hackers took control of my computer and made that post. Damn those Hackers.
