    I live in the Netherlands. It makes sense to be in the same timezone as most of the EU, especially Germany. But that time is off by about 40 minutes. Logically, we should be in GMT, not GMT+1, but that would be extremely impractical. Hopping across the German-Dutch border is extremely frequent, and having to change the clocks all the time would be annoying.

    companies don't get to choose how I pronounce things. I'm dutch, and pronounce it with a dutch 'g'.

  3. abuse of a product is expected. An item that doesn't break after dropping it is better than one that does break. A product that breaks at the slightest abuse is a bad product.

    according tot the article, use of the bikes by non-googlers is allowed. These bikes are unlocked, and available for anyone to use. Using such a bike and putting it in your shed is not theft.

    any competent robber will wait until there are no customers. If there are 10+ customers in a supermarket, they can just bombard the the moron with cans of beans.

  15. If you get your impression of a city from the news, it will be flawed and heavily skewed towards the bad things that happen in a city. Even commercial travelling programs give you a better, more objective view of the city.

    The problem of dirty steam has already been solved, many nuclear reactors separate the water used as a moderator (which will be slightly radioactive) from the water used to cool it.
