My wife teaches English (composition) at a local University and she used "Blackboard" for the sylabus, supplementary reading material and communication with the students. She also put up a few short lectures (combination of slides and voice over narration) on a few of the important topics in her classes. I think this is about the limit of possible use of technology for this type of class where learning depends on sitting with a student and their paper and working on how to make it better. I think that technology is over-sold in education.
Not sure about your definition of "perfect"... (probably something that will never be possible to attain anywhere, anytime). I'm also not sure if you're trolling (in which case, "I has been trolled"), but, we do have good sustainable options... wind, solar and geothermal are all sustainable and emit no greenhouse gasses during operation and only small amounts depending on how they are manufactured.
My reality using LibreOffice is that I constantly exchange MS Office files with collaborators and don't have any issues. (Actually, I prefer to use Google Docs for collaborative work but some people are still stuck with MS Office so I am forced to exchange files.)

LibreOffice 4 Released

I have had better luck with LibreOffice being able to read old/odd MS Office formats better than MS Office itself. MS often breaks compatibility with itself to force upgrades. YMMV
Sure... You could, of course actually go to the BART.gov web site and look at the job adverts for accurate information: ENTRY-LEVEL Police Officer Job ID:3698 Location: Lake Merritt Admin Concourse Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Entry-Level Rate: $4,161.050/Month
I suspect most cops would like to make "low six figures" but a quick Google found multiple sources which showed San Diego cops start at $51,000 and go up to $88,000 with a median of $71,000. This sounds reasonable for a dedicated public servant... not "whacky" at all.
I do agree that the camera companies are the ones making the big bucks. Typical privatizing public services so that the private sector makes lots of profit from the public.
Soldering is a much more reliable connection than spring pressure contacts. For something that is replaced rarely (if ever), it is best to solder in place. My Norelco NiCd batteries are still just fine after 10 years of service.
Most shavers contain NiCd batteries which many admirable qualities but are notorious for suffering from a "memory" effect. If you recharge the battery before it is completely discharged, it will "remember" the partial charged state as "empty". The solution is simple, always let the battery discharge completely before recharging. I have a Norelco shaver that is about 10 years old with NiCd batteries. I always let it discharge completely before recharging. A fully charged battery will last me about a month before it runs down completely. I then recharge it overnight and it is good for another month.
I've destroyed lots of electronics during "experiments" to "improve functionality". It's really easy. Just wire something wrong or let a tool slip and it lets the blue smoke out. As we all know, electronics run on blue smoke and when you let the blue smoke out, they stop working.
The limited size of messages ensures that they will be devoid of any useful content. Most of them are "Look! a squirrel!" type messages and can be ignored. They do fit well with the attention span of many people. I think the problem is that the bandwidth of people has shrunk to Twitter size.
I would really like to be able to vote against some of the stupid ideas on the White House web site. It would help to have a crowd function to weed out some of the wackier ideas.

So, does he have to buy Windows 7 after already paying for Windows 8?

Yes, the racism is in the fact that blacks get arrested much more than whites.
There are many factors. Racial profiling means that blacks are more likely to be stopped and questioned then arrested for minor offenses ("resisting arrest", etc.).
Also, more likely to be arrested for drugs... (see this article on marijuana: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/23/nyregion/23about.html)
Another article about drugs from the UK but reporting on the US: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/oct/31/race-bias-drug-arrests-claim

What is this "Ducks" application?
More corrupt.
How did he get to be a billionaire?
Sure...

There are thousands (? millions) of free WiFi hot spots and I have never heard of a SWAT team being sent to any of them because of "IP abuse".

Usually the "business model change" involves bribing politicians and the police.
I saved this toast cartoon from many years ago... fun.

Friends don't let friends use Windows.
When friends ask me for help with Windows, I install Linux.
The cluelessness of the nerd knows no bounds.
I believe the 787 is built out of carbon composite, not aluminium.

Sitting is bad for you.
Get up frequently and walk somewhere.
Better yet... get a desk where you can stand and work.
