  1. Soccer Moms Will Love It on High-Altitude 'Security Blimps' Coming Soon · · Score: 1, Flamebait

Hmm, let me guess, they will paint a huge American Flag on it? Then people will love it! "Yay, freedom mommy!" Oh well, this won't be much different than the mini-vans I see in the suburbs (when I have to go out there to visit my parents, I would never live in the 'burbs, you insensitive clod). All flag waving - no brain. I'd feel better if it was portrayed as strictly for military use (but not much better). But luckily it's already being modeled for use in the USA. For our safety - hurrah!

Hmm, why not just surf over to Salon to read this article? Salon.com is the only site I've ever paid for content. And I've found it totally worth it - the writing is top notch, and you're not going to find that in one of 100 +5 mods here. Overall their stories and reviews are great, their books coverage (my favorite part) is outstanding and news coverage is up to date about issues that people actually care about. Any news outlet that wants to chage for a premium service appealing to intelligent people would be wise to look at Salon's model. My 2 cents.

IANAL but if Cingular bought AT&T Wireless and your agreement is with AT&T Wireless then you are now in a contract with Cingular. Similar to if you rent a room in a house and someone sells the house, your contract is with the new owner - they are bound to the terms as you are, so don't worry about prices instantly going up or anything like that.

So what will you when every toll road you travel on by car passes your travel details automatically to law enforcement based on your license plate? Or when one day every intersection has a camera collecting this kind of information? Or when there's a camera doing face recognition on every street corner, evaluating whether you are a terrorist or not? Will you just stay at home all day? I think a more proactive stance is needed here. Just boycotting the airline industry is not going to do much at all.
I think this would make for a good commercial. In the background you could run the theme music for "Cheers"... "Sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your name..."

Are you aware of the relationship between Warner brothers records and Sub Pop? If not, check it out! Search for "Hot Hot Heat". My point is not that you're wrong for supporting Hot Hot Heat, just that any band that is totally hot right now is going to be eaten up by the majors, whether it be a contract from Warner Brothers or a contract from their side project "indie" label... which they all have. You have to go really local to avoid it, and if the band you like is any good and wants to live, they are going to sign with one of these labels, with very few exceptions.
