The publisher already has the money. How will a strike hurt them? When all servers are gone people will move to an other game (maybe even of the same publisher).
said in a statement that the ruling will enable it to seek damages from people who illegally swap copyrighted software, music and movies over the Internet
I wonder how they are going to _prove_ they suffered damages. In the Netherlands it's vital to prove loss of income due to the commited fact, for each individual case.
Ok, so a lot of people got their chance to pick on a thingy of this (######) award show. And here's another addition.
So, what qualifies as original music? Existing music that was licensed for the game? Apperently.
BEST ORIGINAL SONG "Maybe We Crazy" by 50 Cent in 50 Cent: Bulletproof (Vivendi Universal Games) "Lights and Sounds" by Yellowcard in Burnout Revenge (Electronic Arts) "When I Get Angry" by Spider Loc in Madden NFL 06 (Electronic Arts) "Getting Up Anthem: Part I" by Talib Kweli and Rakim in Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure (Atari, Inc.) "Error Operator" by Taking Back Sunday in Fantastic 4 (Activision, Inc.)
Same for BEST SOUNDTRACK, did they really bother to lisent all the really original music of the other game?
Luckily the BEST ORIGINAL SCORE category wasn't all licensed music, but... best soundtrack and best score? Isn't that the same thing? The game music composers are not appreciated enough, these money bagging... (something with money, riaa, etc)... artist get most of the attention but do not deserive it.
PS. MTV is pulling the same crap with their game awards.
I worked with AOP a bit (AspectJ and Compose*) and I can tell you this. I have mixed feelings about the use of it. For example AOP is simply awesome if you want to add debug code to your whole application so you can easily add\remove call tracing\logging to find where the program craches (ofcourse you could do the same with in C\C++ with some macros, but it's a bit more work). On the other hand you will completely lose overview on how your AOP changes affect the program in a whole. Even with the visualisation tools that come with AspectJ is not easy.
Seriously. Your toons have no business within the Tron world. The movie was great, Tron the game was a worthfull addaption\sequel on the movie. But please DO NOT LES YOUR DONALD\MICKEY toons in this wonderfull world. The only thing you will do is ruin it for the few Tron fans you've got left.
How much would it cost? Just the price to break even? And if they make a profit, how will it be divided? How will they give it back to the community that wrote it?
I think it's best to keep the cost as low as possible, so break-even plus a tiny percentage. Where the tiny percentage (the profit) will be invested into the wiki directly.
Just because you can search through your email doesn't make it less a mess, it's just easier to find things. And what is wrong with more than one person answering a question, maybe the 2nd or 5th person has a way better solution.
How is slashdot even a blog, let alone a game blog.
And why is this even a category?!
What about "best independed game cummunity site"?
I though it would be somewhat backwards compatible. So porting old games isn't needed. Then what is there to port?
Except for the Hulk I hardly see any differences (except for the brightness). In the Hulk there's an extra water tower thingy.
Well... obviously they are ports, not new games specially designed for it.
Interesting to note, 50% of the games are (EA) sports games.

Why didn't they do more in-depth burn-in tests of these?
They did, but the test site burned down before they completed the tests.

They really explained all good and bad points of the distros they tested.
After reading the article I think my intelligence actually dropped.
Will it include a Jack Thompson kind of lawer?
Please raise your hand if you ever tried to smash a brick wall reenacting a scene from Mario Bros.
Dumbass!

... only old people will keep using MS Windows.
It has been almost a week without an AJAX story on the frontpage, it almost became something only old people in Korea use.
Plus, each console must leave the store with at *least* two games each.
I'm pretty sure this is illegal in a lot of places. (at least in the nehterlands)

Where is the "info about" link on that voting form?
I can't wait for somebody with the last name "Failure" (or something that sounds like it) to enlist with the army.
Private Failure
Major Failure
General Failure
Mwuahaha...
Although this kinda reminds me of a certain sketch in the movie Spaceballs
No prefix?
Guess the obvious solution would be:
* TacoCmdr (postfix)
* TheCmdrTaco (infix)
* Taco (nofix)
* AlmightyCmdrTaco (dogmatix)
