And every time you use your credit card, you're giving away all the information that anyone needs to use it again. What a stupid system.
Why not have a system where you contact your bank, authorize a certain amount, and forward an encrypted token to the merchant? The merchant then sends the token to his bank, which will complete the transaction. Why is something like this not being implemented?
If you're going to do it with Windows, use XP and let everyone create their own limited account. All the "clutter" goes into their personal storage, not the whole system.
True, but closed-back headphones are a necessity if you want to listen to music in even a moderately noisy environment and don't want to disturb those around you. Plus they're great for listening to music at home, much cheaper than speakers of the same quality.
Isn't it funny that a very small license change in a free program like Xfree drives everyone away within months. But NVidia binary drivers, which I use and love, have a license 10 times worse. But people don't avoid using them. In fact just from the gentoo forums there are tons of people trying to get said drivers to work with Xorg! Most have actually had great success.
How is this "funny"? There's no alternative to the nVidia binaries if you want 3D support.
But there'd be a lot more people in jail on murder charges. Hint: in most places, killing someone in self-defense is only legal if you had good reason to believe that your own life was in danger.
I have to agree there. If you want something, get a cheap bottle of pepper spray. It works fairly well (at the very least, you'll get their hands over their eyes while you run away), and it's not another expensive, heavy gadget to carray around.
I'm looking at Debian (gentoo is really nice, but I need stability and quality control is something that is severly lacking there)
I have to agree with you there. I love Gentoo, I use it for everything, but it has a long way to go. There are certain bugs that have gone unresolved for months. Portage is wonderful, but it can also be very frustrating. But for absolute control of your system (which is very important when you're doing unusual stuff like I do), nothing beats Gentoo IMO.
If the algorithms and interfaces are designed well, it could scale up to three dimensions quite easily. Just replace all those 2D vectors with 3D vectors. It's extra calculation, but it's the same core concept nonetheless.
It's interesting to me that 50MB is considered "damn small" or miniscule. It must have been about six years ago that a friend of mine put together a Linux "distro" which included a few network analysis tools, all on one bootable 1.44MB floppy. I feel old:)
And also, if you know your neighbours or friends are morons who will vote for any asshole who can wave a flag and spout some jingoistic bollocks, please have them killed.
That's scary, I was able to complete that thought the same way (note to FBI: jokingly!) before I finished reading the sentence. And your music is pretty good:) So, on my friends list you go.
There are worse places to be than the US, but some day I hope to move to Germany. It scares me what Bush might do if he gets another four years and doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected.
Well, anyone who's glanced over the Constitution (*cough* federal supremacy clause) knows that things can't work that way, but states and communities can make important stands through "civil disobedience". Get enough people protesting by flagrantly ignoring the law, and that law just might be changed.
After you've learned basic grammar and such, buy a few simple (children to young-adult level) books and get translating. For me, that was a nice way to improve my German vocabulary.
Also, browse around Wikipedia. They usually have good language resources.
But if you're starting fresh and trying to learn on your own...I dunno, that's probably not going to work so well. I'd recommend taking a couple semesters (or the equivalent) of the language before going on your own. Bad habits can be hard to break.
I don't have the time to play MMORPGs anymore, so it would be redundant. Sony/Verant did make a horrible mess of EverQuest, though. I got out of there after the first or second expansion, mostly because they seemed intent on forcing everyone into a single, very boring playstyle.
Some day, when MMORPGs have matured a little more, I might get back into them. So far, I have seen very few that aren't essentially EverQuest clones. Ultima Online used to be good...
So why aren't we executing them yet? No, I'm dead serious.
Because that's not how punishment for crimes are determined. Why do you think manslaughter is a lesser crime than premeditated murder? It's not a numbers thing; it's about intent and how "bad" the crime was. Someone who blocks off traffic for an hour isn't going to be executed, even though they inconvenienced a million people during rush hour.
Strange. Some of the greatest composers of all time were German (Bach, Beethoven, Wagner, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schumann, etc). Even a lot of their modern music isn't bad.
But I suspect the joke was referring to the silly Oktoberfest style bands:)

Because the computer will be "licensed" right along with the software. You won't really own it.
Exactly. Just like "Battlebots", they're not robots; they're just remote-control whatevers. If it doesn't have AI of some sort, it's not a robot.

Citations to scientific journal articles to back up your assertions, please.
And how many muggers use guns? Think before you post.

For the last time, no you don't.
I'm doing both at the same time (in the US). Scary stuff :)
Jesus Christ, people. If that's not too fucking hot, what is?

Vielen Dank! Great site.

Logic Supply has a good selection for a few bucks less, and IMHO their site design is a lot nicer.
