    They pirate a total, absolute POS OS such as Winbloz Xtra Pathetic when they could have LEGALLY downloaded a TOTALLY FREE OS from http://distrowatch.com/ and would have never have to put up with the bullsh*t or having their computers hijacked by asshole little pukes that cause chaos and jam the internet up for the rest of us that use REAL OS's....

    I have ZERO sympathy for anyone that pirates winbloz. And I have even less sympathy for anyone dumb enough to pay hard earned money for such absolute trash..

    I was glad to see a photo of someone else's CD's because it confirmed what I was unsure of.

    This problem is worst on CHEAP CD's that I have, the extremely cheapy types (piss poor quality to begin with) are eating away like ants eating a cake at a picnic.

    It started when my A/C went out two summers ago and I went all summer with the windows open. 99% humidity and temps average around 96-100 indoors. I had no idea what was going on, I though I had spilled toner on the discs (because I open a toner cart) and thought that the toner ate the discs but I couldn't find any toner spilled anywhere.

    This pisses me off and it worries me, as I have LOTS of old CD's that I want and need to keep.
    I need to calculate how much hard drive space I need to store them all on HDD, dump what I can to hard drives and put the hard drives away in a safe. I've got old hard drives that are 20 years old that I can STILL fire up and read the data after all these years. I've got CD's that are f*cked beyond salvage that I can ill afford to lose that are less than 2 years old..

    Screw CD's..... I'm terminating my love afair with this SHITTY technology starting right now...

    I think it's a ridiculous waste of mental energy. Calling a boat or plane "her" and all or countries "the motherland".... How assinine can it get.

    I guess it has something to do with archaic ritual of paying tribute to an ivisible being that live in the sky and counts the hair on people's heads..

    It's amazing the things that people will believe in.. It's even more amazing how people waste so much mental effort believing in things that don't exist when they could expend that energy in bettering their mental abilities and capacities. The average person probably wastes 10 years of their life consumed in such thought processes..

    What a tragic waste of time and life..

    Since you name your computer, why not take a photo of it and carry it in your wallet, show it off to your friend, like a baby picture?
    Or take a picture of your "female" robot and show that to your friends as your "girl friend"..

    and I still have trouble figuring Gimp out..
    1.2 is just flat out clumsy, 1.3 is a touch better and 2.0 is even more improved. But still, they are all tough to figure out. I don't use it every single day, maybe once or twice a week at most but it sure could be more user friendly.

    I've seen some work that other people have created with Gimp so I know it's a powerful program that can do mind numbing stuff but I'll be damned if I can get the hang of it.

    I used to use paintshop pro 6 back when I was using windows, because it was simple to understand, cheap, fast and it took care of my limited needs.

    I wouldn't mind having Paintshop pro 6 run on Suse 9.x pro...

    1. install Smoothwall 2.0 (smothwall.org)
    2. install adzapper into smoothwall (sourceforge)
    3. activate squid proxy in smoothwall

    No more ads. ALL systems plugged into you lan are now protected. I don't care what they are, javascript, flash, gif, jpg, whatever.

    The very few that do sneak through are easily tweaked out in adzapper settings.
    On top of that Konqueror takes are of the strays that may sneak through pretty well.

    It's damn rare that I see an ad for anything on my lan... :)

    This is starting to look a lot like a typical windows discussion.. Why go through all this, why not just use windows?

    We use Linux because we want the freedom of the GPL and the freedom to download and compile OS apps and not get locked into restrictive licenses for proprietary codecs and applications.

    Not to mention were basically a bunch of cheap bastards that like free shit... At least I am....

    Still works after almost 2o years. Only changed the batteries ONCE and I use the hell out of it.. I wish I still had the original manuals though, the ex threw them out just to be mean..
