b)Depends on the publisher. Sony movies says for their initial blu-ray movie release they'll turn off the secured output requirement. Other publishers may not be as nice. Also all upscaling dvd players require HDCP out.
c) All depends if ps3 has unified video/sound port like the 360. My guess they'll probably have one but you never know its sony were talking about. They've been acting pretty irrational lately.
Any way I could careless what sony does, i'm getting a wii in november. I sure as hell not blowing $500 on a console. HD optical disks isn't on my plate till someone wins format war or a combo hddvd/bluray player is released at a reasonable price.
Rumour going around is that MS will drop the premium edition price by $100 to $299 in november. I wouldn't be suprised if the wii retails for $199. So the price of the premium edition ps3, you'll be able to get a wii and a 360 including 1 game for both system. Sony screwed up big time.
You forgot to mention that TIVO spies on you and requires a phone connection to send its spying back to tivo. I dropped my directivo and switched to cable just because directivo requires a phone line which would cost me $25 more a month since i don't have a phone line in my apartment. And to add insult to injury, the only reason it requires a phone line is to report back its spying since directivo recieves its guide and updates from the sat feed.
And forget about the old market share argument explaining why Macs don't get malicious viruses. Don't you think there would be some prestige for any writer who could create the first malicious Mac virus?
How forgetful have we become. Anyone remember when apple had 15%+ marketshare? NVIR, WDEF, CDEF. My system diskette was always getting infected.
Because the codec is designed for voice. Though they can try use nonless codec(like the ones used for faxes) and run the audio stream over that and in theory that should work but it would be biggest pain in the ass. Just ask anyone in the voip industry(vonage etc) about modems and faxes.
360s aren't sitting on shelves, you'll have a hard time finding one. Amazon, Bestbuy, EBgames list them as sold out. A few of my friends are still trying to get one, i got mine by calling bestbuy everyday since the day it was released, took me 4 months to find one in stock. Demand isn't the problem with the 360, its the supply chain thats affecting sales.
So compare IIS5.0 to later version of apache. IIS5.0 is what came out with windows2000, IIS6 comes with 2003 server. IIS 5.0 is still has half the number of security problems that apache has. And just think IIS, isn't just web, its also does SMTP, FTP and NNTP and still has less security problems than apache which is really quite sad. Kinda makes you wonder why anyone would choose apache over IIS, maybe its because of all the disinformation on the net that fan boys spread.
I disagree this is a very bad name. Look at like this, are you really going to say "Lets go play some wii"? I'm mean seriously, wtf is nintendo thinking. They could of kept with tradition and just called it "super gamecube" or even used just used the code name "revolution" which is an actually a great name for a console. This ranks up with "ogg vorbis" in bad brand names. Brand names mean everything, look at "snakes on a plane", only reason it is popular is because of the name. Another good brand name is ipod, just flows off the tongue nicely.
allegedly groped? Umm he was convicted of the crime in a criminal court hence he is a sex offender. So you're saying it is inappropriate to make fun of a convicted sexual offenders?
By deserving you mean they locked in the market. I have an ipod and about $50 worth of songs, mostly through combination of gift certificates from my parents and secret santa at my office. In order for me to change to another portal music player, i'll have to ditch all those songs. With over a billion songs sold, thats lot of investment that people aren't willing to drop. If apple wants to fight a fair battle, they'd license fairplay to other manufactors. If their portable music player is the best, they have nothing to worry about.
At least you got to talk to someone. I called 911 on my cell phone because i hit a dining room table(LA freeways have weirdest stuff that i assume falls off the back of pickup trucks) on the freeway and i got a voice mail system telling me to leave the details of emergency after the beep.
From my knowledge of fairplay the mp4 wrapper wraps an encrypted raw aac track and at play time the key which is stored in some secure storage part of the ipod decrypts the encrypted payload contain the raw AAC. The extra cpu time is done in the decryption. I assume the decryption is done in realtime. I'm not sure why license information would be a factor but maybe you mean with wma and their subscription service and yet to hear how this actually works.

Quite funny that the wii controller has rumble.

I'm the most frequent slashdot poster at my jr high
Is very great.
Or does combining a volkswagon bug and a tail pipe so large that it make goatse jealous seem very.. nevermind.

Do we need to stoop to ad hominem arguments? How about we just focus on how stupid of an idea this is.

Rule states that you can't meter data calls on those 800 numbers it isn't really a loop hole. If i remember correctly.

IIS 6 2 exploits all patched
Apache 2.028 exploits 3 unpatched
I bet i get modded down for posting these two links.

I'd rather spend the $700 difference on a couple strippers and some coke. Too each their own.

There in my van you want to come see them?
Not in america. Just look at politics.
Deer don't attack you in the forest, they run away.
GT4 had 1080i output on the PS2.
Wow its just like the nintendo powerglove!!!
All I know it isn't powerful enough to do HD output something both the original xbox and ps2 were able to do.
