    So whatever you do, don't bet on Xbox dropping to $99 or seeing Xbox Next/2 in 2005. And don't complain that Microsoft lied to you when neither of these things happen.

    They are educated guesses. IBM already began taping out processors for the new XBOX. Couldn't think of reason why IBM would start getting their manufactoring line ready if the launch date was 2 years away.

    According to an FBI affidavit, six such "loopers" and six DirecTV access boxes were in plain view at Sprague's home when agents conducted their search. One box was connected to a television and had a reconfigured card in it.

    Wonder how they knew it was reconfigured for pirating satellite reception without seizing it or at least turning on the tv. Last time I checked warrant is only for the crime that it was issued to, pulling out the card or turning on the tv don't fall in scope with a warrant to search for illegal dvds.

    Does anyone read abuse emails? When my company used to provide dialup ISP services, abuse mailbox was loaded with bunch of whiners. People saying that one of our users degraded them on usenet, or they got spammed with a virus(which was forged email address but they weren't smart enough to read the headers) and lot more useless crap. Can't forget the guy complaining that one of users ripped him off on an ebay transaction. We never have problems with email spammers but did have problems with usenet spammers but our usenet uplink provider sent emails to our personal email addresses instead. And if we were a small ISP a recieving a significant amount pointless abuse emails imagine what largers ISPs have to deal with.

    Now our kids stay home and play video games all day. Our daily socialization is now just emails. Instead of regular postcards we get ecards. Instead of going to flea market or yard sales, we use ebay. Instead of waiting every month for our playboy, we download images off usenet. Instead of phone sex, we have webcams and instant messenger. Those pictures of your mom at mardi gras no longer are confined to some guys wallet but are now for everyone in the world to see. That video of you pretending be a jedi master sword fighting is no longer local joke but a worldwise joke.

    Manufactors aren't forced to do this by the government, it is by choice. But as consumer you have a choice not to buy their products. Only thing that I find unethical is that the companies do not label their products as having these checks in them. Seriously, look at other products that have some form of "consumer" protection systems. Like automobiles with a speed limiter, the speedometer goes up to 150 yet the chip in the car only allows you to go 120.

    Too bad its mostly a myth about getting pounded in the ass in prison. Everything is supervised including showers. They even seperate the gay prisoners from the straight prisoners due to violence against gay prisoners.

    That myth isn't all bad, it keeps people out of prison. There's good reason why the prison system doesn't try to dispel that myth.

    Umm IE engine is essential to windows, do you not notice that explorer windows in XP are HTML pages with some extensions? You can customize it however you want if you know html. If you don't like it, don't use MS products. People complain so much Microsoft, here's a big hint, Don't support them with your money. I use Macs, and everything that I need is on the mac. My parents use macs, and I recently just setup my uncle and aunt on a cheap eMac. My college used Linux.

    Thats why I play Poker when I gamble in vegas. Low limit tables ($2 $4) usuaully have beginners or drunks. Any person who has an average level of skills should easily break even if not win money even with high percentage casino rakes. Plus you get free drinks and comps.
