"The Pressplay deal is significantly different because we're pioneering a way to deliver digital music on the hard drive," said Brad Shaw, a senior vice president for Gateway.

I sort of remember something. A way I used to get digital content onto my machine...nap something or other...man that seems familiar.

Honestly, who do these people think they're fooling. Look at the selection of music, they're obviously targeting the audience most utilizing current p2p apps. Do you think most high school and college kids are going to give up their napster/kazaa/audio galaxy/etc for something they have to pay for?

to more carefully read the agreements that you are supposed to agree to when you sign up for your email account. If people used a bit more scrutiny, they would save themselves a lot of hassle in the long run.

Either that or maybe people don't understand that "free" email usually means "spam supported" email. A lot of the reason the email is free is because the host is prodiving lists of addresses to companies.

I use www.myrealbox.com as my host. It's free pop3 and there is even a provision to report spam. Worth checking out.

Maybe we'll see a bootable mame cd.

I would love to take a mame cd, boot the machine from it, and run my roms off of the hard disk. It's certainly nicer than having to run the app from within whatever OS.

Yeah I know there have been some projects to do this but they've been flaky at best. I'd love for someone to prove me wrong on this though. ;)

I talked to one of the network admins about the bandwidth kazaa was using. He told me it was taking up around 75% of all the available bandwidth. After the admins decided to shut it down for a few days, the data pipe was nearly empty. The only thing is, this had absolutely no impact on the network as a whole, even though the bandwidth was fully saturated , things weren't especially slow. I wonder if perhaps some schools have some misconfigured services, or if I just go to a school with a huge pipe. :')

Many people still play with their dreamcast online. Check out pso-world.com for information on one of the most popular online dreamcast games, Phantasy Star Online. Online play for the dreamcast has significantly extended it's play value. You can also download and upload game saves and post high scores on websites.
