  1. I for one on Snakes on The Net Fail to Put Butts in the Seats · · Score: 1

I noticed a difference between the average internet crowd and the type of people I witnessed in line for a movie like Saw II, which grossed $31,725,652 its opening weekend. All the bloggers were too busy blogging.

Unless your view of a normal diet includes unusual amounts of cod-liver.

Well that all depends on what you say a 'normal' diet is. When I was growing up my mother would give us kids a spoonful of codliver oil every night during the winter - I considered that normal. Of course these days they fortify the milk we drink with vitamins D and A. What I don't know is what vegans are eating to replace the D and A which are lost when you refuse to drink milk or fish oils (which also give you exposure to the beneficial DHA and EPA).

Which brings up another question- how will the native Linux version of Doom III compare to it's windows counterpart?

That would be an interesting comparison, but an even more interesting benchmark IMO would be to see the difference between 64bit Linux binaries vs. Windows binaries. If id compiled the Linux version for AMD's 64bit processors, would there be a significant boost in performance?

  10. Legal P2P will succeed... on Will Legal P2P Music Distribution Succeed? · · Score: 1

Legal P2P will succeed when the laws which ban the sharing of music are put to death. IP law is a joke and only serves to keep people in an artificial state of wealth - while simutaneously eroding a cultural backbone in the name of greed.

Face the facts - music is something to be shared by a culture, not kept locked away for the privilaged few.

Actually when you get into the more team based FPS games like counterstrike or urban terror, I find you get more female participation in the game, especially in the clan tournaments. However the reflex skills are still somewhat daunting; I've yet to see a woman who completely owned all.

"Automatically cleans your floors while you enjoy life"

This thing would probably make life unbearable with the noise of the vacuum sucking up the dirt on the ground.

Why do I get the idea that I would end up just watching this thing clean my floor instead of enjoying my life. It would seem to me that getting off my lazy bottom and cleaning the floor myself would be a better way to appreciate the fact that I can move around than whatever it is these people think I should be doing.

Also, if this thing takes away all the crumbs and skin that accumulate on the floor - which in turn provide nourishment for a multitude of life - wouldn't this machine be destroying the very life you are trying to enjoy? ;)

When will these guys learn that the harder they try to make me feel like the airline is a safe thing, the less I trust them to do their job - which is to cart me across the continent; pronto.

Now I'm all for planes not blowing up, but these security measures have gone too far and, in my opinion, don't seem to offer any significant benefit other to increase the racial divides between humanity at a time when we should be attempting to come to a common ground.

"computer gaming has the greatest chance to hone skills useful for productivity in the workplace" Sure, it may improve on hand eye coordination, or the ability to solve puzzles - but the problem with games is that they are designed to keep you playing, to be addictive (otherwise they arn't fun). You may gain skills, but those skills will simply be wasted on the games anyway - and in the mean time you get really good at those games and subsequently want to do something you are good at.
