I was planing on doing the same, except the teletype I have is much newer (its a DEC) im not sure the model number or anything however.
I was just going to write my own version of lynx that just dumbs the whole page or somthing like that. One idea of mine was to create a "web shell" or somthing as it would be fun.
The teletype I have can go up to 9600 baud, and I have a bay networks remote annex lying around so I thought I could use it.
I have a VT330 as well but its stuffed, oh well I might fix it. A VT220 would be cool, however I cant find one ata cheap enough price.
The question is support and stuff. I prefer red-hat over slackware for a server, and slackware over red-hat for a workstation.
That sounds a bit weird, most people want a user friendly graphical system for there workstation, I dont, slackware boots faster then any other Linux I have used.
I like debian, but the installer shits me to be honest, a great distro once I get it running.
Gentoo, another good distro if you bother to install it, would be good in an enteprise, there are also companys which can provide support for Linux and stuff these days, that quite possibly do a better job then the vendors.
Still Red-Hat would be the way to go for an enteprise. And SuSe, I have no experience with SuSe, so I have no idea what to say about it, however I hear good things.
Windows XP Preinstallation Envrioment is a bootable cd, which boots the XP Kernel, a GUI and a command prompt and has networking. And it offically Microsoft.
I have a copy lieing around somewhere.
With DRM this means that we can all enjoy a movie (Even if disney movies suck bigtime) over the Internet and not be pirateing it. It allows companys to do things like this which is good in the long run.
Tell everyone that SCO contains IP from Linux and that in running any SCO Unixware Derived software that they could be sued by Linus Torvalds and Alan Cox. Of cource they wouldnt, like SCO wouldnt win, but people dont know these things. Lets fight fire, lets spread our own bullshit over theres.

I commend you on this peice of work, it lightened up my day on my meta-mod dutys that I must forfil myself with (otherwise I will get bored and play chicken with cars).
When you think about it, this isnt that big. I am being a bit redundant but all a screensaver does is pull wool over the prying eyes of others from your screen.
Of cource then it is a small problem, and the fact that I cant see a fix makes me proud to be using an Operating System made by geeks for geeks (Linux). For example in a some enviroments and other situations logging out is not always practical.
On top of this consider that tbis can be logged unless the user has permission to root with the/var/log and stuff like that. Which they shouldnt, in that case, if you have administration privs, then yes you should be logging off in some enviroments every time you go get a tissue or some more HyperMints.
But there is to much Media Whoreing as usual by countless nobodys that are dieing for attention, it happens all the time, people start websites, make action groups all for the wrong reasons. People start a great many projects on sourceforge that never actually happen. I big example of media whoreing is the SCO case. Walk up to your average joe blow and ask what he thinks about this stuff, not much. Or ask Linus Torvalds, what DID he think, not much. The fact is nobody really cares about this stuff, and im including geeks. Its these attention whores that need to be filtered.
Its the same in this case the AH (Attention Whores) keep focusing on the negative as if the US run OS X with screensaver passwords to control there nuculear goverment or somthing. What about the real issues, like standing for what you belive in, if you dont belive in in anything then just get out of the path of those who do. Its purely selfish, and on the whole can gradually ruin things for the rest of us.
I wrote this because this article and the way people flaired up on it sorta told me what 90% of people dont mean what they say. This article told me how much time is spent on what is important.
I have recently realized that People dont care about Real Multitasking, Threading, a easy to use shell. What people dont want is "Questions" to a normal user, a "question" is a mind bogggleing thing, even if its just to turn off a startup hint, they will dread reading it and ask "whats this mean" to the nearest IT person.
What windows does is it ignore's us geeks who like to decide what we want top do and just does it without asking. So really, you just need to remove "Questions" and you will have a suitable desktop/home system.
This is also why I feel that a lot of people dont like the debian installer (even geeks).
Until the rediculous amounts of Internet Sex related content are somehow lowerd, i would not let my kids touch the internet until there about 13 and are already shown all that in school.
Besides I have better things for my bandwidth then Children downloading crap all day.
It may not be hard for some housewife (or a lot of other people) who does not see much happening in the world (only what the media and goverment tells them) to say we should do as they say. But how do we jusfify them as right, we cant just listen to them because then they can do anything. If we did that we would get a bunch of BPFL (Barsted Politions From Hell).
