Beagleboards are 149.00USD and Pandaboards are 179.00USD you then just need an SD card 4G or better. I run a pandaboard myself for some D-Star ham radio stuff.
If there is a class action I will deffinatly join. I use my ps3 to run Linux and to play Bluray movies. When I am in the PS3 OS I disconnect from the network. However there have been 2 movies that forced me to update in the past or I could not even watch them. This will be how sony forces you to lose OtehrOS. The will come up with some lame excuse that to enable 3D support they need the space in the firmware that OtherOS takes up. Sony is far more deceitfull than Microsoft and Apple combined. Hopefully the BluRay of Sherlock Holmes that comes out tuesday will not force an update either, but I would put money that the first majory sony picture to come out on BluRay after they push the update will force you to update for one reason or another.
This is just step one in the overall sony plan. Rumor has it that later they plan to begin charging a service fee for PSN. That would be fine but there will be no concessions for people who have already downloaded or bought games that depend on it under the guise that they would have free continued access. Beyond that the required updates will also only be available via the PSN so if you dont pay, you wont be able to update, and if you dont update you will not be able to watch new movies that you bought. It's economic terrorism.
Whenever someone who goes after hackers/pirates/phreaks forgets or bends the law there is always someone or some group who will take it upon themselves to become the vigilante. Some of you out there will recall a long while back when the first instances of Gail Thackeray first appeared. Gail tended to perceive the law differently. She was plagued with harassment to no end from phreaks and credit defrauders. Late nite phreak telephone confs would often threeway her into the conf to be ridiculed. No matter how unlisted her home number was, it was always available.
Most hacks/phreaks/pirates out there know they are in the wrong and when shit comes down that is it, but when someone like Gail or MediaDefender steps over the line there is hell to pay. Whether it is right or wrong you can bet the personal information in those emails is going to be put to no good and the people involved with MediaDefender will be living a life of hell for a while.
I do not personally condone these actions, but it's a simple example of what comes around goes around.
In the cell phreak/hack community this has been suspected for quite some time. It's also suspect that the GPS can be activated regardless of whether you have it set for 911 only or not. If you need total anonymity with a cell around the best thing is to remove the battery completely and if you are still paranoid place a 1k ohm resistor across the positive and negative terminals of the phone (not the battery) to drain the capacitors that may still hold a charge. Further you can remove the antenna which will greatly reduce or eliminate the transmission range of the phone.
This is exactly why they should impliment it. It would force persons to learn responsibility. If they are caught writing a password down then terminate their employment. If they forget a password and lose data, terminate their employment. Sure it sounds hash, but would you rather the government be harsh about their security, or freely give out you personal information by allowing laptops to be stolen with such data unencrypted. Basicaly if a person is suposed to be responsible enough to have this data they should be responsible enough to remember a password to access it.
Most people don't take into account that there have been some very serious rewrites in Vista since Beta1. A new team of developers was brought in. OpenGL is not wrapped inside of DirectX 10. I have played with Beta2 on the demo machine here at the Univ. They actually just installed it last week. It's installed on a cheap Gateway E-series. I got to watch the install and interesting enough, it worked perfectly after the very long install. I'm a big FreeBSD fan and I use Gentoo on my laptops, but this is the first Windows OS that has impressed me. I became interested after seeing what it could do at the Microsoft E3 press conf. Anyone who says Vista is bad has not given it the chance or has some very odd hardware.
why I think you should have to have a license to use the internet. There are 4 and 5 year olds with ham radio licenses so it's not a bad thing, it just makes people use their brains insted of just wasting airtime/bandwith.
It's the television manufactures fault. When was that last time you saw a TV that could produce "native" 1920x1080 at an afordable price? Most of them can barely produce HD 16:9 720p. It should bethe TV manufactures first aginst the wall when the revolustion comes. I know this because I just aquired a copy of the Encyclopedia Galactica from 5000 years in the future that states exactly that. Perhapse the FCC thinks if they warap a towel around their head this mess will go away. Well I hate to tell this this is no Bug Blatter Beast from troll and they will have to face the music. If we dont have Full HiDef when we were promised there we may just destroy the earth and bypass insted. The digital watches just are not enough any more.
A simple thought, is this really a humanitarian attempt of Microsoft's part, or is this a plan for them to acquire access to national information containing information on individuals including their addresses, phone numbers and various other information that is in the E911 databases. Personally, I do not want to have an emergency and get an operator who politely informs me during my hysteria that it will be a few moments while her computer reboots as she has just been presented with a 'Blue Screen of Death'. It's not like there are already problems with the E911 system in some areas where people still get a please hold message because there are not enough operators. I am not sure but I think in some places there has been an automated system put in place to pre-parse calls based on touch tone input that can expedite more serious emergencies.
I have said this before, it would be a good idea to regulate internet use with licenses similar to that of HAM radio. This would reduce spam and the spread of viruses, as well as force people to know what they are doing when the aquire an internet account. Yea, I know that most of you will have some argument aginst this bu your entitled. I personaly think this would help solve many problems.
Can we then hold Public officials accountable for crime on our streets? I mean they should take reasonable measures to prevent crime, and aparently they are not since we still have crime.
You can NOT hold someone responsible for somethign someone else does unless you are some part of it. Hell while were at it lets hold MCI and all the rest of the backbones responsible to for not taking reasonable measure to stop illegal activities over their networks. Let's hold the phone companies responsible for all the communications over telephones that leads up to drug deals.
If the people of California allow this to happen, lets blow the fault line and sink the damn state into the ocean.
You really can not argue this without knowing all the facts. We do not know what was in the E-mail. Did he sign it with Fitch's name, or his own or what. He obviously can not sue over the image and it seems this is really why he is sueing but since he cant sue over the image he found a loophole. This is exactly the type of case that should NOT be allowed to even reach court. If Doe was trying to steal his identity you would think he would be trying to get credit cards or something that would be gainful. From what we do have it does not appear to be any form of Identity theft, but to truely dispute it you need to see all the evidence, which really in my opinion shouldnt have been brought into court to begin with.
There is a saying that if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. If you start using RFID to track people the criminals, the juvinial delequits and other similar types will be the only ones not tracked. With every new copy protection that comes out there is a new crack, with every new console that comes along there is a new mod chip. RFID is no different, it will be hacked and hackers and criminals will be immuned to it's ways. What boggles the mind is that there are individuals out there who still don't get this concept, and continue to try to forge some type of technology that can't be hacked. Where there is a will there is a way. Even PGP, the most renowned public key encryption is suspetable to attacks such as key logging. There is no perfectly secure technology. There never will be a perfectly secure technology. Hardware and computer hackers will always find a way. the whole subdermal thing reminds me of Futurama where Fry runs from Leela to avoid having his job chip implanted. You can always dig that chip out and cary a cloned chip in your pocket. It's not like they check to see if the chip is embeded, only that they get the signal. To be honest this doesnt scar me, it just pisses me off that so much of the populous is so ignorant to allow this to happen, but like I stated there will always be a way around it. I'll go research those ways now.
Sounds to me like they are going to patten this and then wait for someone else to produce a product. If you look at their current products none of them are even close to being small enough to fit in a collar.
I think I may patten the process of distributing technology news via an electronic medium where readers are abel to provide their opinions on said news bits. Imagine all the PHP Nuke and/. like sites that would owe me money.
I personaly hate Real*! I am currently working on a PHP Jukebox that is as secure as any WMV, ASF or RAM. I use a method that only allows the PHP server to read the file so you can not directly link to it, and it FORCES streaming. Of course you can still capture the stream with software, but you can also define which software packages to allow access or specify ones to denie access. Once I have a fuly usable beta I will aply for space on sourceforge.
Incidentaly any form of media that can be streamed is compatable, this included mpeg, ogg and many many others. I think companies are just to lazey and the RIAA has stricken Terror into businesses trying t use MP3. I personaly think that makes them Terrorists and they should be tried as suck, but since the USA is no longer a Democracy, yes that is right your vote does not matter, the electoral college will over rule you. Insted we are a diplomatic country controled by Mega-Corp Conglomerates.
If you read the FAQ that Blackwulf posted you will notice that the programing is not yet determined, but AnimeUnleashed is mentioned so it definatly is not being ignored. The last half of Last Exile has not (as far as Im aware at this point) had a US Release, so untill it has you wont see it broadcast. This is a good anime and if you are a fan I do suggest you purchase the DVD's. Anime had a fairly big boom in the last 2 years in the US which happens every so often, then when it dies down we start seeing less being imported and have to rely on FanSub. So please support anime! You should also consider visiting The Anime Network to find out if this station is available to you, and if not fill out the request form.
I agree, XPlay 'SEEMS' to be 'LESS' biased than most other game review magazines, web sites or TVshows. They are not afraid to outright say a game sux. I rely on XPlay as I refuse to pay to subscrive to a website that even after payment insists on streaming adds to me and having biased opinions.
I have the SL-5000 and you should know that both devices have issues with CD and SD cards that are fairly large. It's advised that you avoid sandisk cards over 256M, as people have had varried results with them. Lexxar for CF and Panisonic for SD seems to be the best choices.
At the price, the Sharp SL-5500 may not seem like the best deal for portable mp3 player, but keep in mind that you can also watch movies on it. It is by far the best PDA Ive ever had and I use it for movies on long drives and for keeping track of all the stray thoughts that the voices in my head sometimes wisper to me.
I think anyone considering a new handheld should very strongly consider the Sharp Zaurus. This unit is very powerfull and very open source. There is a strong and growing community out there and several projects going on including a palm emulator so you can run your old palm apps. All these projects of course are opensource and in alpha or beta stages but there are several full featured comercial applications out there. One such company 'theKompany' makes several comercial apps including a media player that plays mp3/ogg wich has been out since before the first portable ogg player. A Jabber client for connection to MSNM, AIM, ICQ, and yahoo messanger.
I have the 5000 series developer unit and I love it. It is far superior to any palm device Ive seen. The only drawback is is that noone has produced an SD card of more than 128M yet and with the CF slot taken up by and 802.11 device you realy want more memory with all the qpe apps out there.
BSI makes some inexpensive rugged laptops. Kontron also makes some unique field computers, particuarly the In Rave. Wescom also makes some field computers.

I think another name change is planned. Sometime this year the name will become "The Wrestling Channel"

I have a collection of Super Villains called "Bug Force" that just happens to have the EXACT same characters as "Source Force"!
I guess the real question is weather watching childrens shows that annoy the crap out of you (barny for example) have the same effect.

I think it was myth busters that did an experiment with this and found wrapping a room or even your head in foil will amplify signals.
