to convey thoughts and ideas - if you got the message, there's really no point in criticizing the delivery. Looks and appearance may be important... or they may just be the elevator shoes that some people need to wear to make them feel like they are bigger than you.
Risk is the type of game that rises above the board when you're playing among other adults. What starts out as a game of pieces and movement generally becomes one of political intrigue, making alliances, and casting doubt upon other alliances. We've reached the point where everyone has to go to the porch for a smoke break at the same time because no one feels comfortable about what strategies might be birthed behind their backs...
It seems that States want it both ways - they like to get nicotine addiction classified as a handicap (MN) in order to pursue tobacco companies to get huge settlements, then they turn around and enact outrageous, disporportionate taxes on this same addiction. Is it morally right to collect $1.7 million based on people being addicted to a substance? Are Michigan smokers really just a big nicotine fueled cash cow? If the state is able to tax that much based on something a person is addicted to, what motivation does the state really have to help get that person off nicotine? It seems as though all of these lawsuits against the tobacco companies were just a way to give the state a cut from our addictions - more like the Gambinis muscling in on the Gottis than any sort of public representation.
grade 1982 - a few kids were shuffled into the science teacher's room once per week to learn BASIC. My parents eventually bought me a TI-99 4A - I remember calling radio shack to see if they had any "blank cartridges" then convinced my Dad to get me a tape drive for it. I wrote "Happy Birthday" for my mom all day in TI's weird ass sound code. Eventually we got a C64. I was one of the dorks that stood around in gym trading pirate programs and games.
How can they manage that? Games have been pirated for as long as I can remember - Apple IIe/TI-99 4A days. They're much smaller and easier than movies to pirate.
A little off topic, but have any of the Americans out there considered that there is only 1 American company in the RIAA, yet our government is letting them snoop and prosecute us? Is the same thing going on the the other members' countries? I don't think so, and if it has, I'm not hearing much about it.
is cool. I've been looking for this for a while, however I was interested in a few more features. Has anybody seen a game with a cash interface like this that allows you to build things then cash out when people buy your content?
Does anyone know of any game design related accredited scholls that offer online education?
I recognize the power of google, but it also brings a lot of crap up to sift through.

They're an excellent small to midsize company that could provide anything from a turnkey system down to any individual step along the way - walkout, strand draft, design, construction, and/or testing. They also do consulting and they're world wide. I used to work there (Eagan, MN)until I moved my family back east (NY) to my old stomping grounds - I helped work on a number of projects just like yours during my time there.
someone decided to copyright paths through the woods and try to charge people who wanted to follow a path someone shared with them. Keep public tech out of the woods - if people wanted to opt-in to anything they can already buy a GPS.
... or the american way of life we bomb them whether we are justified or not... right? So-- how about a full scale military shock and awe campaign against the RIAA and their members?
and most of the other women I know - are simpler puzzle type games. My wife doesn't care about flashy immersive graphics or 5.1 digital surround, just something that challanges her - there's no money in these games. Most of them are already available for free at pogo.
apparently he writes music. His site is www.orrinhatchmusic.com
However when I tried to listen to a song, I got this page
Maybe the poor guy is just under the impression that since no one is buying his stuff, that they must be pirating it. May it would help if we emailed him a told him that his stuff just sucks....
I can't believe that the recording industry believes that locking down CDs, making them less versitile, and restricting where you can play them is going to make them a more attactive product than a free MP3. Please, at least give me some reason to feel guilty.
I suppose the dinosaurs trapped in the La Brea tar pits thrashed around a bit before they went under as well.....
What about virtual kiddie porn? - where there are no actual kids used in the making, but the images are created and photoshopped to look like children. People who do this are morally dispicable (in my opinion) but are they doing anything illegal? Are they exercising their 1st ammendment rights, or should they be prosecuted?
This is a PC, nothing more - hooked to the TV, sporting an ethernet connection, and the kid who designed the site had Flash and Solidworks with the photoworks addon.
I worked in the cable industry for 5 years as an internal systems administrator at a Systems design contractor. Most of those techs are trained on hardware that'd liquify your brains - installing software for some clueless customer is a very small part of their responsibilities.
Some of you people just need to get over yourselves!
Maybe selling the hardware at a loss to make money from the software is unethical. It's just another one of those money games to mislead the consumer.... If the hardware costs $500 you'll end up paying $500 by being overcharged for the software. Maybe they should just charge what the console is worth outright so consumers will know what they're getting into. Then the games could be reasonably priced at around $25, and they wouldn't have to worry about what is done with the hardware after the fact.
Everybody honest = Everybody happy.
And yes, the sky is tie dyed in my world....
This comment is funny at the outset, but just plain scary at the end. It's affected me the same way- I'm worried what I say in public, at work, around friends. Right after this happened everyone and their brother started putting american flags on everything and got all wrapped up in this patriotic fever- talking about how the muslims are just evil- pretending that we never did a thing to provoke this act. They're still trying to whip up the war machine as we speak....Try to express a dissenting opinion and suddenly you're an unpatriotic godless terrorist
subscription fees for cable? Am I merely paying for the opportunity to be exposed to more and different types of advertising? For the $100+/ month I pay for cable + roadrunner I should be getting all this stuff advertising free.
I'm dropping it all- time to pick up a book. With DVD, I believe my family and I are fine media-wise.
Also, has it ever struck anyone else as funny that the shows on TV are called 'programming'?

on my PC? - yet another reason that the free product is a far better product
that the Might and Magic series really ended up sucking major a$$? The last one was especially horrible, so what's the big deal?
use caps lock all the time. Whenever I sit down to log onto a machine and I get my password wrong, I know I'm fixing a CAD machine.

Viruses and should be treated as such

I clicked on 'I do not agree' and it let me into the site anyways

Seems to me this is the opposite of what Roadrunner is going to do.
Bandwidth Hogs Pay Up!
I assumed that Time Warner, also being in the music biz, was going to start limiting bandwidth usage as part of a back door scheme to kill P2P.
I imagine they'll limit bandwidth except to a few choice sites with freebie download MBs where they'll hawk their digital music etc.
This would effectively kill file sharing, support their copyrights, and open their markets for online digital media sales in one fell swoop.
All the while Joe Public is putting his energy towards not letting the RIAA hack into their machines to see what they have.
Classic screen play- I'd watch Verizon for the same behavior.
