    Does anyone remember back in the day when they used to give away free accounts? They weren't shell accounts, but you could do email, news and IRC. This was back in 1990, and basically that's how I got my feet wet on the internet. Good ol' times I reckon...

    The "now depecrated" chkdsk is alive and well, albeit in a different form in Windows 2000/XP. Is there a "gui" counterpart to chkdsk for Win XP?

    I have seen Dan's article before, and while interesting to see what happened, and his explanation...all of the sudden it hit me! If you want to prevent algae and microbiological stuff in the water, use a waterbed conditioner!!! That's exactly what it's used for in waterbeds and it's very cheap.

    No, I program speed dial in my home phone. All it takes is one memory for the 800# and the other for the options/code #

    No, I have used it so many times that I have *memorized* my code #. It's the 800# + 12 digits by the way.

    This has happened to me many times. Guess what? I can recharge it with a push of a button in less than 10 seconds. Sometimes the other party doesn't even know it happened!

    Just ask a friend or someone to get it for you. Also Sam's allows you to buy stuff for a day (a courtesy)

    Nope, minutes won't expire, there is no "First minute takes a quarter of your whole talking time ", and the payphone surcharge is only 10 units (about 35 cents) which could be CHEAPER than some payphones that ask you to put in 50 cents for a local call!

    No, it's a sign of a much better economy than what it used to be in the past. No matter what side you take on politics, you can't argue that right now we are so much better economically overall than in the late 70's/early 80's.

    Carbon/coca is ok but its limited to the mac platform. WxWindows/GTK is a great cross platform gui toolkit but its limited to mainly gui development

    not only that but I had another mistake there "you got" should read "you have to". Similar errors are what are found there...take a look at the forums and their funny subject misspellings :)
