It's not just people stop playing. Blizzard has consistently banned people for "exploits" that haven't happened. Because of the shitty customer support, those people have no choice to either completely quit, or fork over more money to the company that banned them to get a new account.
Er, if you are concerned about power consumption, wouldn't you have the energy-star complaince stuff turned on and set so that after a period of time (I'd say 15 minutes for a good power/money saver) they automatically go to sleep?
Uh, you are completely wrong, you entered in for way more than $40. Assuming you probably pay $30/month, and are bound to the contract for 1-2 years, it was $360 - $720 contract, not to mention fees, taxes, and surcharges. You also aggreed to pay a fee if you terminate early. So potentially it could be like a $900 contract.
yeah. or maybe you caught up and read the news that this is the official multiplayer demo, and the one everyone's been playing was the beta. There are a lot of differences, like an actual opening rather than just the sky. there's a lot of tweaks they did, maybe you didn't notice cuz you were to busy dismissing the story before you read it.

It's what I do. I wrote the script for the commericial implementation of our jabber server to manipulate rosters. If you wanted to do it the fun way, install the port on a BSD box (we use freeBSD for ours) with a mysql backend. Make php-based web pages to manipulte the DB, or install cli php module and do it that way maybe
Yeah, but this policing shit doesn't way out where authors come in and post good reviews for their own books under the guise of anonymous posting. It's like taking out false positives but saying "The false negatives don't hurt anyone." That's bullshit, cuz dipshit's will review their book up, have friends do it, and then a poor sap will buy the book, find it sucks, and he wasted his money. All because no one bothers to police the other side of the fence.

Woah! Get the articles straight. First off, Fischer was in Japan, Jenkins wasn't. So Fischer can be extradited, Jenkins (who is in Indonesia [which doesn't have an extradition treaty with the US]) won't be unless he goes to Japan for the free (and needed) Medical procedures. I agree consistency is needed, but so far, they have been consistent.
It would be hard to do most of my work (Server Maint.) without the net. I might have to actually go to the servers instead of ssh. Wait, what am I talkin about, without the net I wouldn't HAVE a job.
Medievia does have an interactive combat system, some nice er "text" graphics, and is more entertaining than any of the 6 MMORPG's I've played (City of Hero's, DAoC, EQ, Anarchy Online, SWG, WoW Beta). After Maxing out 2 accounts in DAoC, I still go back and play Medievia.
I'm tired of seeing shitty games get rehashed and released, especially those based on movies. Since GoldenEye the Bond series has died; Since MegaMan 5 (hell, even earlier) the MegaMan series has had mild additions; Since Street Fighter 3 Alpha.... Since Mortal Kombat 3... Have any sequels had any success beyond bearing the name-sake? I'd say Final Fantasy, but there's only been one true sequal out of that series (FFX-2), and it's a crime there hasn't been a FFTactice-2 yet. But even looking at this from a hardware prospective, not much has changed, just things got a little faster, a little prettier, a little flashier, a little more exspensive.... It's just the same shit, different logo.
I bought a gamecube for X-mas (Selfish, I know, but I wanted it:P), and so I've been buying a lot more GC games. Hell, I have Hot Shots Golf 3, and because I wanted to play golf, I went and got Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. It's nice and everything, but my PS2 has become unreliable at playing Games (DVD's too) so I just don't use it, even though there are some games I want to buy (GTA:San Andreas, GT4, Hot Shots Golf: Fore, FFXII, etc...). I'm really going to have to weight getting my ps2 replaced by another ps2, or getting it repaired, I'm not really sure which is a better idea, although the repair might cost less.
Completely true, this is pure bullshit. If you ever play SSX 3, look at the beginner courses. There's ad's all over. 7-Up dn-L Honda Element. Shit, you jump over one. How much less did the game cost me since EA got sponsors? Nothing less, not one dime cheaper. "For sports games it's different..." Not this sports game, I don't see any Burton Boards, and Think Boots, and Spyder Race Suits. Now don't look at this as a rant to just rip on SSX-3, I love the game. It's more pointing out how this is already happening, and this shit isn't going to drop the price of video games, it's going either keep the costs the same (and allow for BIGGER profits for the parent companies of the game producers), OR it's going to raise costs, because companies will need to meet the exact standards of the company whose product the are slipping into the video game ("That lighting makes it look bad," "That isn't the right color red," and "Can you possibly make that sign take up 1/3rd the screen?")
Complete Crap, one more industry I'm going to lose faith in before I become a hermit.
First off, I go out because I sit behind a desk and type for a living, oing out to the mall with my SO brings in for some fun not only people watching, but also i get a bit of exercise walking around one of the largest malls in the world (M.O.A.). Being in the mall also gives me a chance to check out the wierdass shops they have, and also saitiate my SO's want of material things I don't understand, e.g. shoes. That's just the mall too, I go disc golfing, and I take my neighbor's dog for a walk, because he's a cute bastard and she works late. I'd think the main reason people leave the house (besides work) is exercise, and well, fresh-air. I like fresh air.
One of the largest point that seems to stick against people who I game with is that there doesn't seem to be any PVP. I can see it being implemented, but it's just not the competitive game that most people I game with want. Of course, the people I game with are in no case any type of standard or majority, so our opinions don't really count.
Any chance you would webcast this, or maybe record it and upload it? I'd love to watch it. And I'm positive other people would (even if just for research). Let me know so I know how to pay:)
I must be the only one who's angered by this, because I actually WATCH g4, and I'm going to miss all the shows. It really sucks that they are going to merge them, because G4 was the one reason I kept the extended cable. Now it's going to be filled screen savers and random other crap when all I want to do is watch Filter.
Any chance this is going to be exported to the US? It sounds like it could be fun, and well, I don't mind supporting the Bangladeshi and their history.
the problem with you using the highest grossing movies of all time is that there are seperate audiences. The biggest audience is kids, because they are willing to kick and scream to go see a movie, and they are willing to go see a movie 7 or 8 times in the THEATRE. If you look at qualtity also, R doesn't necessiate quality, it does however mean that there are some concepts that kids "shouldn't" be exposed too. It's the same way with Video Games. Great games don't always sell high, and rating doesn't change that. What the video game industry needs to learn is that a little splash of blood, dropping the F-bomb, and then having a stripper get in the car won't necessarily bring in Sales, it just earns them the 'M' rating. They need to look at what actually sells the games.
But I could be completely wrong, because somehow the damn "Capella's BUCK HUNTER!" Games still sell.

It's no wonder Blizzard has idiotic policies that end up hurting their users.
... with this site and IGE. This is just propaganda.

It's just a ploy by someone who secretly hates the people who did it. They have the site /.'ed and then laugh when the persons computer melts!
Isn't the google toolbar made by Alexa? one of the larger (and in *my* opinion the most bastardish) spyware companies around?

they already have the game screensaver, check here: Progress Quest
Um, read the article again. It's NEW MEXICO, not Mexico.

PvP is being tested for FFXI, think there was a slashdot article mentioning it a week or so back
