  1. Re:Competition on Intel Preps Mac mini Look-Alike · · Score: 1

I don't care that, its 20 bucks. Apple left it out and Intel has a chance to include it, for their own sake. But my post must have been good, since I managed to piss off the Apple fanatic and the Intel fanboy. I use a powerbook, by the way. And it's sad that you have to mention that you own a mac so you won't get modded a troll if you point out a shortcoming on Apple's gear.

This Intel clone is guaranteed to have on board video and be pretty non-upgradeable, except for RAM. I've had an intel 845G built in video, I'll take the Mac Mini Radeon over that piece of crap any day.

Oh, and being an intel clone, this thing better be $249 out the door, including a DVD reader / CD burner and a copy of Windows XP. Think it'll happen? Probably not. They didn't even take advantage of the Mac Mini's one missing feature - S-Video out. I think that's a power port, not the elusive TV connection.

Seriously. Did you see the 60 minutes report this week on the confined inmates of Pelican Bay? These guys aren't retarded criminals. These guys are genuis masterminds. It's a shame they use their brains for crime rather than for the good of society. I'm talking learning an extinct Nordic language for communication, and hiding codes inside intricate artwork. Granted, LA County houses more burglars and drug users than Gang lords, so let's hope this helps. Believe it or not, LA County "loses" inmates all the time. This is a general population prison, not Alcatraz.

Sure the movies aren't that great, but were you really expecting to see something revolutionary? The Star Wars films have always been popcorn movies. It's not his fault we nerds take them so seriously. He's a filmmaker, and a very succesful one. I can't wait for the new Star Wars movie, or the upcoming Indiana Jones sequel. But I'm not expecting either to top 2001: A Space Odyssey. Just fun to watch on the big screen.

Neither Apple or Dell will give you a discount. There isn't enough demand for a program like this to suceed. Linspire will see you a laptop, check out their offerings.
