I haven't messed with it in a while, so I don't even know if there is software out there for modern OS's. But back in the day, if you are willing to use a real pc as your input device, and get a "good" sound card; with a high SN ratio and some software to be a "cheap scope".
After all, a DSO is "just" a D/A, and the input of sound cards is the same.
Maybe the sample rate on sound cards is not high enough, but the specs on some of the latest SoundBlaster (creative labs) cards are impressive (106dB...).
If you really need a good scope, you'll likely have to spend money. But if you are a hobbiest who just needs to see basic waveforms, maybe there is some good, cheap software out there that takes advantage of commodity soundcard hardware?
If so, why? I mean, I wash my hands after going to the bathroom, at home, alone. Because it is the right thing to do.
While I don't ACT any differently I certainly do my share of database pollution, wrong phone numebrs, bad zip codes, etc. Every chance I get.
Just because I don't like being watched, and don't make it easy, I don't act any differently when I am.
Where is the treshhold of product penetration before you have "social impact"? 0.03% of the world have an iPod [fewer if you take into account busted and non-working units]
I don't know anyone who even has an iPod, but I know lots of people who have portable cd players, for instance - many of which can play mp3 discs. I did see an iPod in CompUSA, once.
I submit that the iPod hasn't had any meaningful social effect, but that digital music, in general, has had quite a bit of impact in popularizing [to joe shmo] the notion of intangible intellectual property.
There is a lot of talk on this subject about how "everyone is equal" for an online game... maybe not.
Just google the usenet groups for "female fine motor skills" and you will see lots of discussion on the topic, including relevant places such as rec.guns and rec.games...
I think coed games are just fine. I like to play fps against real people and I don't care who they are.
As far as fairness, I'd tend to think skill, connection speed and location relative to the server are more important that physical differences between M/F.
Insightful? Where do the moderators get off moderating knee-jerk political correctness as being Insightful? Mod me as a troll or redundant or whatever crap you may, but when this kind of intolerance for the wrong of sense of humor is considered Insightful while just having a normal sense of humor is attacked is just sad.
Racial based humor is not, logically, indictive of racism.
In other words, the answer to the question where do the moderators get off moderating this racist drivel as being funny? is; Because the think it is funny!
Get some looser shorts, man. I am guessing that one of the differences between my post and the parent, was that I smiled more while writing mine.
Moderators: Mod this however you like, it's your mod point.
for (int ii=0; iiblah; ii++)...
Doesn't take much longer to type, and if for some odd reason, you do need to search, looking for "ii" is unlikely to turn up anything else...
The article is about a Canadian device...

FFMPH = Frequent Fly Mile per Hour.
However, just because it may not use fuel to continue on it's journey doesn't mean it didn't need some power to get it started...
