How about as a space saver. people do not always have space for everything you might. Perhaps someone is a minimalist in the sense of not wanting to many objects lying around. Thats what I came up with without really thining about it. Im sure there are many other uses. someone above your post even mentioned as car mirror that could deliver other info to you. It will be as practical as we can make it.
Mac OS 9 is dead in Apple's eyes, especially since Quark supposedly can abandon OS 9 as well. At least with Amiga, there are companies supporting the OS. Even if Amiga is dead in the eyes of some, it has companies backing it up at the time being, unlike Mac OS 9. OS 9 has been out for a while and you have survived thus far. How much of a difference will a new program make on a dead development platform?
This is just a real time yahoo user group. In my opinion, I would rather use a yahoo, or similar, user group if I wanted to meet people with similar interests or locals. I dont see this replacing IMs or user groups.
Grades are now the standard (default) here at UCSC. As far as I know, us older students are the only ones left who can choose which classes we want grades in.
I accidently hit the submit button on my last post before I was done with my post. What I was trying to say was that Linux has a different file system, so you would have to reformat your hard drive (iPod) to support it. If you did this, you probably could not use it as an mp3 player while it was formatted for use with Linux. It might be possible to have more than one partition on it, but you can wait for YDL to support firewire booting before you try that.
Since linux uses a different file system you might be able to reformat you ipod but you could just install it on there. It wouldnt be a an mp3 player anymore.
I use a calling card which shows up as unknown name and number or just 'call'. This can be a hassle for people who use caller ID. Whats your soulution to that?
Unfortunately people who do nothing wrong have to fight back. I had AOL before they had unlimited access for $20 or so. When asked if I wanted to switch to unlimited billing, I said yes. Come bill time my bill was $120. I refused to pay on the grounds that I agreed to an unlimited access plan. I never had to pay the money. I was also about 12 at the time and didnt want to pay money I didnt have. The point is: FIGHT BACK, even twelve year olds can win.
I had two hp printers and one canon photo printer (bought refurbished) and my free lexmark, $50 otherwise, has been the most problem free out of all of them. Ive only owned 3 computers and owned 4 printers. I hope that printers continue to get better. If I have learned anything its to not buy hp ever again.
They will not honor the sales, I know from experience. I once saw a flat screen tv for $150 when its normal price was $1000. Needless to say that it was suppossed to be $150 off of $1000 and not $150 total. They would not honor my purchase.
eMacs have a fan in them while iMacs did not. This makes a big difference to some people. Not to mention that they came in colors and styles while the eMac is only white. It is generalizations like yours that make people think PCs are better than Macs when they have not even tried both to see what fits their needs.
One of teh main new features that make a difference in VPC 6 over other versions is the use of teh L3 cache. Only certain models of the G4 have this... those who dont will only get the other feature benefits... perhaps the author did not have one... anyways I am waiting to test it out myself.
Secondly I doubt that microsoft will stop making VPC or make it worse. they do sell a copy of windows with it. The true worry is that you may be forced to buy teh most up to date versions of XP only or microsoft OSes only.
VPC is an x86 architecture emulator not a Microsoft emulator... it is true that most people who use VPC use a Microsoft Branded OS but they dont have to... they could use a version of linux, BSD, unix, or some kind of Free DOS operating system just as well in most cases.
He gets the idea from looking at the products that keep apple in business, i.e. laptops and iMacs. You dont believe him, Apple makes 50% of computer sales from teh laptop market.
"...it seems, to me, that our personalities appear to be much less influenced by out environment and more by our genes."
Are not our genes influnced by our environment, all be it in a longer time line? So really this complicates the whole nature vs nuture matter even more. Just my two cents.

A governmental concern might be is this profitable. Here in the USA the feds still make pennies because they cost 1 cent per eight manufactured = 7 cents profit. Profits are even greater with paper money I believe, at least once a high denomination is generated. I dont see cash cards as being very proftable to the government, at least in a direct sense (Obviously they could raise taxes or find a way to profit).
Im am not a film major nor am I an anime fan but I did take a film class about techno thrillers which had Ghost in the Shell as a viewing and topic. This was over a year ago here at UC Santa Cruz by the way. And this year I walked in on another class' showing of what I think was Ghost in the Shell, not too sure, its very possible it was something different because it was a different teacher.

I have an ATI Radeon 8500 and I am still waiting for support. Until then I will continue to only use OS X.
Some, if not all, cell phone users are charged for both directions.

Actually besides wireless there are many ways to connect to linux also. http://docs.zaurus.com/lc_generic.shtml

Im no expert and dont think I am even close but what about temperature? Wont that have an effect on what will grow/survive?
It was implied that you understand that laptops and imacs dont have pci slots in both his post and mine.
