  1. I don't get all the hate. on New Command & Conquer Game In Development · · Score: 2

I enjoyed C&C Generals. I know it's not the best RTS game out there (WarCraft 3 still my favorite). But, it was an interesting story and the graphics were pretty good. It was plagued with numerous EA bugs such as blowing up your installed game when you tried to play online. All and all it's a good 20 dollar game. If I payed full retail price of 50 I would have been disappointed.

  2. Re:Could do better on Sony Makes up for Memory Card Losses · · Score: 1

You miss my point. Making Sony jump through hoops while giving me oral is not the response I'm looking for. The point is that giving those games away means nothing because if they didn't they would be collecting dust in warehouse. No skin off of Sony's back. Likewise, I'm not asking that they poney up everybody a copy of San Andreas or Ace Combat 5. And yes, backing up is the best option but come on. When it gets to the point where you can't even trust the demo disks then it's time to start reevaluating your status as a PS2 Customer. /my 2 cents.

  4. Re:ET? on Prelude to the PSP Launch · · Score: 0

Just the fact that this is in the article:

"Sony was burned with their release of the PSX (the PS2 on steroids) and was left with a stockpile of machines in its inventory. Sony learned from their mistake and is not going to let that happen again. For this launch, there will only be 200,000 units available, with another 300,000 units by the end of the year. This is a very small number compared to the demand for this item, but with production costs rumored to be twice the asking price, Sony can't afford to let one PSP sit in inventory."

WTF? There is a demand already and they are still cutting down the production. How do articles like this getting posted on Slashdot? I have to agree with the other posts that this is just sony fan boy dribble. I don't remember ever reading that Sony got burnt on the PS1. If anything I remember when it was released you couldn't get it for months unless you preordered it.

If the prediction is true that the final level of Halo 2 will only be on Xbox live then I will sell my XBOX. I didn't buy Halo 2 because I wasn't impressed with the first game. I haven't setup an account on xbox live because I don't see the need for it. I'm perfectly content playing games at home without a live account. Now, if Bungie does this then that means that other game companies will follow. What is going to happen is your going to buy a 50 dollar a game and be required to spend x number of dollars per year to have xbox live so you can get all the content that should have been provided when you initially bought the game. Too me this is pointless and just milks the customers for more money.

I live Montgomery county, Maryland and they were selling these at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. I knew the first time I saw these that they were not legite. I wrote Nintendo and email and they responded back that they would look into it. Why did I do it? I download roms of the internet on occasion. I do this because I want to play the games before I buy or I can't get the games because they are old and not being sold. With that said, if I like them I buy them. However, what these people were doing was illegal and stealing. It's one thing to download music or copy it for free. The RIAA has not right, I believe, to say that is wrong. But, if you download the music and sell it THAT IS WRONG. Some company with a team of developers worked hard on those games. They deserve to make money off of them. It's the same thing with software, games, musice, etc.. Don't steal and make a profit off of it. It hurts the consumer and the company.

More games should allow the player to take the role of the evil/bad guy/antagonist character. I remember a game called Tecmo Deception for PS. It allowed you to set traps in a castle and kill hero/treasure hunters. Also, the last Resident Evil game allowed you to play as a zombie. Games like this should be commended for thinking outside the box from ordinary "let me save the Princess and the world" type games to "Let me destroy the world and kill the princess" type games.
