Reminds me of a great joke by lewis black... something like "The people of Alabama sued the state for having the worst schools in the country... this means... the people of Alabama... sued themselves!"
MS already gives away licenses for windows xp/2000/98, visual studio, and i believe office at my school (university of michigan) - you just go to the library and check the media out for 24 hours. There's a waiting list but it's typically only a few people long.
Dear Internet User,
In an effort to comply with ICANN's request, we have shut down site finder. Instead, the wildcard dns entry will now point to goatse.cx. We hope you find our new "non-registry" service useful, and look forward to your comments, which can also be submitted at goatse.cx.
With Love,

We have disclaimers on lots of things saying don't use x with y or p as a q.
The Java license is a great example:
"Licensee acknowledges that the Network Applications developed with the Software Product are not designed for use in hazardous or high-risk environments such as, but not limited to, operation of nuclear facilities, direct life support, air or space travel, or police, rescue or military operations."
I called customer service earlier today... the techs sounded pretty stressed out. They told me if I wasn't having problems, I would be fine as long as I didn't power cycle the phone. When the phone is powered on and tries to reregister itself with the network, it can't. Of course, my battery died before I could get to a charger.
I'm still without a connection, and when people call my number, they don't even get my voicemail... just a fast busy signal.
Damn you Cingular! I'm switching providers! Wait, I'm locked into a two year contract:-/ I knew that was a bad idea.
Actually Pro doesn't need an update (assuming you're already using version 2.0 which was released a few weeks back). If you're not using 2.0, you should have upgraded already anyway.:)
The University of Michigan is deploying a VoIP system... all the (public) details are here. I'm not sure if it's as technically specific as you'd like but it gives a good overview of what they're doing.
We are unable to comment on the credit-card sized device(tm) at this time.
However, your shiny, credit-card sized ass is in violation of our patent. You have 30 days to either pay us $30-million in licensing fees, or surrender your ass to us.
Yeah, raising taxes in Sim City definitely doesn't generate more revenue, especially when you're already in the hole.
Maybe they should elect Maxis governor of California - I think they have it pretty much figured out.
Or even better, instead of electing a governor, someone can write a California scenario, and have each candidate play it. Whoever has the most money at the end of the simulation gets the job.
This could be a great marketing ploy... think about it's application to computing:
WARNING: Using non-OEM print cartridges may result in a really, really big explosion. You'll be set on fire, and the heat will give you very nasty burns.
They should make the camera controlable in real-time from a web site, so visitors have control over what the camera is pointing at. Then, post it on Slashdot...
I don't intent to be mean, I love palm and purchased more handhelds from them than I care to counts... but I think somebody's kid got a hold of the memo and changed the l to 1. PalmOne might have been ok, but I don't think I can continue to recommend a company that has replaced a letter with a number in it's name, and keep a straight face.
Doesn't that go against Section 508 standards for tax-funded institutions?
I don't even know why I'm bothering to reply to this, but NPR posts archives of their radio shows on the internet for listener convenience. I think it's a bit much for them to transcribe every single radio show they do, and make it available on the internet for free. They do transcribe and/or summarize a great deal of their stories and make them available on the web. If you really want a copy of a story, you can order a transcript.
They don't have to make the archives available on the web, and if they had to transcribe everything they posted, I'd imagine they would just remove the archives.
Like NPR cares about that; they don't let their 501(c)3 status interfere with their journalism.
I'm glad you're so 'concerned' about the rights of the disabled (which is very evident from your 'nprsucks.com' link). If you're mad because you think NPR has a liberal bias (or whatever your reason might be), then just say it.
Yeah... but why just "win" when you can win more!(tm)
For example, which do you prefer?
1) Selling a new router
2) Selling a new router, and getting more money for transferring something physical that costs you nothing
I mean, what's next, Microsoft charging us to relicense (a legal copy of) OEM Windows when we give/sell someone our old PC?

... just have a cockroach with a tiny little camera strapped to its back go in behind the yeast roach.
So when Bush said Iraq had WMDs, he really meant to say that they LINKED to WMDs... :-p

I'm not trying to compare telemarketers to drug dealers; I'm just saying that just because you work hard at something doesn't make it a good thing.

Easy... he wrote it at the library. Duh!
