I had a sega game gear, good graphics... stupid short battery life (and it killed 6 AA's each time). got the point i couldnt play it without plugging it in as i couldnt afford the batteries.
Make it small, make it light, and make it run for a LONG time
Sorry Dr Seuss, but we have to rate your new book M for sexual content, seems that some kid can go get a picture if a topless women, tape it in your book, and be exposed to nudity.
can you imagine the look on the loan officers face when you tell her you want to borrow 100 grad to buy a virtual space station in a computer game to turn it into a night club?
I admit it's been a LONG time since I've been a 10 year old boy, but what I do remember is that it was all about the image, spending stupid amounts of allowence money on shoes that had the right logo on the side of them, shirts with the newest sayings on them, etc... there would have been no way under the sun I would want a game system named after pee in my room. "Look at Johny, he's going home to play with his wee! HA HA HA!"....
horid name, it's going to cost them huge in the pre-teen to 18 male market.
it helps when you are the only show in town. The jury is still out as to how far their sales will fall when the PS3 hits the shelves.
MS is in dire need of a Halo for the 360 to sell on, sure the games they have out now look 'ok' but there isn't anything out there that makes me say "WOW!"
of course it's a clunker... its $150!
but look at the target buyers, first time computer users on a VERY limited income. They arn't aiming at the hardcore gamers, even the casual web serfer is well above the bar that they are aiming for.
let me put it another way.... if all you can aford is a mo-ped, will you really be complaining you didnt get a BMW?
mix of the two really. With the job market full of bursted bubblers it's hard for a new grad to get their foot in the door with a lot of companies. EA has a good policy for accepting programmers without 5+ years of experiance so they end up with a large number of fresh grads working for lower wages because they are still wet behind the ears.
After 12 months of working a crappy job to pay the bills, and 1500 unansered resumes I applied there. I got a different job before EA offered an interview, but after that long of saying "how can I help you today sir?" ANYTHING looks like a good job.
one of the reasons BillG doesnt want modded XBox's is because then people wont buy as many XBox games, just use it as a very cheep linux box. MS losses around$100 on each Box sold, they need to sell like 5 games just to break even (cant remember if this is exactly right, but i know its somwhere in that ballpark)
Long story short, they cant afford to sell too many XBox's without games.
points to you.

anyone else see the irony in an article talking about annoying click-throughs needing so many bloodly clicks to read?
virtual boobs only had 5 polygons and we had to walk to school up hill, both ways!
money, and default settings on IE7... imagine every IE with a Yahoo! toolbar on it *shudder*
where did he get $100,000?

but they havent even anouced anything with a high enough wow-quotent to get me to buy one.
wtmtp..
saying that most portable gamers preferr a PSP doesn't meen that they actually HAVE a PSP.
my preferred car is a Ferrari, but I drive a Ford.
and how much will they lose out on in the future when they realize they have nowhere to drop to while other platforms anounce price drops?

successful X360 launch may be stretching it a bit neh?
Are repairs business expenses?
that's a good question!

I can see it now... dozens of dinos screaming at a pack member to learn to pull :)
I just wonder when they will be coming out.
