  1. This is Absurd on Game Designers Lack An X Chromosome · · Score: 1

This is so factual. See what they did here is took a random sampling of game designers and got their karyotype. The results were that 100% of them had an extra X chromosome. I don't really see how this was accepted without proper editing. Now then, to further ridicule this article... Women and men don't want different things or the same thing! What the majority of people want is driven entirely by their current social status and social goals. Proof of this are girl gamers and even pro girl gamers. And get this, these girl gamers play the *same* games as guy gamers do and enjoy them! They even want to play these games! There shouldn't be a debate about how to make games which are more palatable to women. More women, and men, will play games when it is more socially acceptable. In roughly two decades gaming will be as socially acceptable today as most other activities. This is of course, after MTV and other networks are finished making gaming into pop culture and poisoning the gaming community with utter garbage.

  4. No Anti-Cheat System? on Call of Duty 2 Causing Server Unrest · · Score: 1

Hmmm... if I recall correctly most Anti-Cheat systems are often created by third parties. The only first party anti-cheat systems I know of are VAC and PunkBuster. Unreal uses Anti-TCC which wasn't created by Epic Games. Blizzard doesn't really use anything other than something for WoW (which foils the Sony Rootkit :P). What other games are there out there that have server side anti-cheat software?

You can use save game exploits and cause a buffer overflow to execute any code you want. This is how I put a whole new dashboard on my XBox without ever opening up the box. Furthermore, I could rip any DVD or game straight to my harddrive and no longer need the physical disc. Of course to do this requires and older copy of 007 or Mech Assault, a PC with an FTP client, and a network with both the PC and the XBox on it. Time to execute: roughly 5 minutes.

The show isn't the problem. Anyone who watched this episode knows it's a joke and most gamers (I'll wager 99.9% of gamers) will never act this way. However, there is a problem with society. The majority of people watching this episode who are compliment to the set of gamers will now have a very skewed view of the set of gamers. Ths is the problem. Jack Thompson's of the world rejoice.

From the looks of it, this takes hundreds of images and stores them in one file. Then uses software to create a single, desired, image. This means that conventional storage will no longer be enough, for while one image now takes up several hundred kilobytes to a couple megabytes (JPEG compression), this new method will take up hundreds times that size. >.

Look, it's really simple. Really! You go to the store, and pick out some clothes that you think will look good on you. Go try them on, if they look good on you buy them. Wear them. Forget this fashion discussion. Wear that looks good on *you*. Note: This means that you buy clothes that actually fit your body size (i.e. are not too big/small) and don't advertely clash with your other physical traits. It's not rocket science. You know what is aesthetically pleasing to your eye, go with it.
