Because Nintendo made two horrible decisions during two consecutive console generation. Most people I know couldn't care less about Nintendo. Hell Nintendo would still be king of consoles if they didn't drop the PSX for the N64.
Why not have the option to suspsend the OS kernel in a seperate space in your RAM (or seperate RAM dedicated to such tasks) and then dedicate all your resources to the game and nothing else. Then when you alt+tab (or another keystroke) it will swap the instruction from the aforementioned memory and into your actual RAM.
This is perhaps because HL2 is a connecting piece between HL1 and perhaps the 3rd installment. Why would people question Gordon's missing time? They thought he was lost after the Black Mesa incident.
Of course no one talks about the war or anything like that. I mean c'mon these people are supressed. They feel as if they say something wrong they will be shot or sent to Nova Prospekt. Moreover, it wasn't really much of a war. More like a hostile take over. If I remember right it didn't last more than a few days.
I don't see how you say no character changes. If you are referring to HL and HL2 characters then they indeed do change. In fact it's difficult to perceive characters even existing in HL compared to the depth of characters in HL2.
It costs $15 for a 12-15 Track CD? How is $0.99/song too low? $0.99/song seems about right. Especially considering that you don't get a hard copy of the CD, you don't get a CD pamphlet, and you don't get the case. The RIAA needs to stop being so damn money hungry.
If one assumes the U.S. government pressured the hosting company to shut down the site then one can also assume that the U.S. may actually follow through with their plan to attack Iran. Pure speculation though.
So who is to say that everyone on the net is not your friend and that you bought a CD or DVD and ripped it and are now sharing it with all of your friends. Can't really share anymore now can you?
Most high school students are interested in games and other forms of competition. Mostly though, it has to be fun and entertaining otherwise they probably won't do it.
If anything computers are simply providing that distractive outlet that kids didn't have before. Those who were going to excell in school still will with our without computer usage because of their mindset. Either way, computers are a new learning tool. I know at school many of my classmates and I sat and read the news, slashdot, newsforge, and others of the ilk during class because the class was boring. Granted my classmates didn't recieve the same grade as I did in those classes (A's etc.) they did so because they simply did not care. However, they still learned, and have the same knowledge, if not greater knowledge of the subject matter as I do. Not doing your homework and not learning is a very different matter. School's only really grade on how much effort you put into a class, not how much/how well you learned.
Didn't anyone notice that the motion to unseal was denied because the movants did not have the legal standing to file such a motion? Moreover, did anyone notice that unsealing the document would break international treaty?
Granted that if those two reasons weren't there I am quite certain that the third would still be upheld, however, it's sad that so many people overlooked those.
While those games make a great resume you failed to mention his work on Deus Ex: Invisible War and Theif III. Those games were less than on par with their predicesors and dissapointed the gaming community as a whole. While Deus Ex remains my favorite game of all time, Deus Ex: Invisible War is a complete and utter pile of crap complete with really shiny everything (this means the box, the CD, the characters, and everything in the game. Yes, even the supposed matte wooden chairs are shiny.)
Yes, however, the DirectX libraries and binaries would also be executable on those systems if the program works in the way it is claimed to work. Moreover, the hardware requirements for the game are still the same. If you don't have a DirectX compatible card you can't expect to play the game on a PC.
Either way, the top two video card manufacturers make all their cards DX compliant and most of Apple's new systems are running ATi Radeon cards.
Needing a license to use the software because your CPU makes a copy of the program in the RAM makes no sense at all. Especially since most software cannot even fit entirely into RAM. If I am not mistaken licenses cleary state that you are licensed to install this program on one machine at a time only. If you choose to install it on another machine you must remove the copy from the aforementioned machine. It says nothing about the program being processed in the computer's memory. The license is for you to install it onto your harddrive and execute it for your purposes. Most licenses also allow you to make backups of your software for your own personal use.
The reason you need a license for the software is because that software is copyrighted and in order to use or display copyrighted material you need to have a license for it. Music and video that you purchase at the store has an implied EULA type agreement too. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean you are not bound by it.
In demonstrations to press and analysts, the company has shown a graphically demanding game -- a Linux version of Quake III -- running on an Apple PowerBook.
Because the past 2 generations of PowerBooks haven't been running on a BSD kernel which is very similar to *nix and runs most *nix applications natively anyway? Moreover, Quake III uses OpenGL as a renderer which makes ports a lot easier than games using DirectX.

Nope. I bought an XBox and Halo just so I could play it at LANs. Thnx
But will there be live traffic updates like Y! Maps is supposed to soon have?

Guild Wars and Anarchy Online are both free to play.

I seem to have been misled when I saw the Star Wars Trilogy: DVD Box Set in every major store in the world. Apparently Trilogy no longer means 3 =/
this happened before when someone was selling thousands of games, systems, limited edition systems, and SDKs. the game companies shut it down though.
PATRIOT act?
First Doom III beats it to the shelf. Then Halo 2. Will Half-Life 2 really ever come out?
Great. Now I can only beed *between* the speed limit signs.
That's odd because in the stolen builds and in the "beta" there was HL2 DM Multi-Player.
If they made this program mandatory then people would also be required to use IE to display that page.

The BBC Reports:
The North Korean authorities have said the massive blast was the result of an "electrical contact caused by carelessness".
It appears two railway wagons carrying dynamite exploded after getting snagged on overhead electric cables.
I don't know about you but I've never seen dynamite mushroom into a cloud several miles in diameter.
