    I can see how this would be perfect in industry. First off, if you need a keyboard, it does have USB. This would be perfect to drive ad displaying computers since it does have video out. It could be used at museums and librarys when connected to a larger screen that has its own touch screen capabilites and where the tech folks dont want to have to bother with full pcs. The cf makes it absolutly perfect for these applications because at the end of the day, the cf could be reimaged and put back in to get off the garbage people put on it (no need to freeze it). This would make smaller restaraunt order screens and so on, I think you all know what I mean...

    I mean, I highly doubt online publishing is even worth the effort. You would need to do so much advertising and get so much television publicity that it would just be more worth it to be invited to a real book signing. Maybe publishing both real books and online books may be worth it, but not going online only.

    Look at some of the systems avaliable on newegg. One of the best I have seen is a motherboard with 8 SATA RAID ports for $250. It comes with an thing that fits into an expansion slot in the case to make 2 of them external. Most cases can handel 6 harddrives. It also had 1 ATA133 ide channel.

    Its not slashdot actualy (my logs recorded only about 400 hits from /. since I posted that), the last few days zapto.org has been hit by DDoS attacks and its been carying over to its clients, aka me. Its back up for now, the attacks have subsided.

    Install 98 and upgrade? I have never had this problem before when installing XP and I use roadrunner. You could download the sp1 net install with linux and burn it if you had to.

    What happened to the predicted shift from the do everything machine to the seperate single purpose machines. I would never get a phone like this. My phone is the standard green screen motorola, not because I cant do better but because I have a PDA and because I have a digital camera.

    I get 15 HDTV channels with digital cable here, though half of them are local network stations like ABC, CBS, PBS, NBC. But I also get a few HDTV movie stations. I dont get any HDTV sports stations, but I guess it realy doesnt matter since I dont have an HDTV...

    on my windos box
    1) Drivers (this could be all 10)
    2) PPPoE dialer (not too selective on what one)
    3) Winamp
    4) VideoLan
    5) FireFox
    6) ThunderBird
    7) SpyBot S&D
    8) Trillian
    9) Visual Studio
    10) Nero

    On my Slackware box im pretty happy with what it comes with, I pretty much just install OpenOffice then spend the next few hours configuring everything how I like it.
