  1. updating the kernel - Is it necessary? on Linux Kernel 2.6.4 Released · · Score: 0

I see a lot of new kernel releases which is great because it provides fixes and shows the work of a growing OS being done but is updating the kernel everytime it comes out only for hardcore users?
Sure I could update it everytime, but will I benefit from it if I'm just joe schmoe user and everything is running fine(no cricital patches needed)?

If you ask the quality compared to the quantity from man and woman, you'd get a big difference. I'll bet a large chunk of the stuff women buy is crap due to lack of knowledge. Might sound sexist, but it's true. Men will do more research just out of interest.

There are so many companies trying to profit from the loss of sales in CD's(too expensive, copying, plain bad music).

The money the RIAA is spending on anti-piracy tactics should be used to profit from this. They aren't going to scare millions of users into not copying. It's impossible. They'll be suing people for the next 10 milleniums.

Create a plan to start making some of your lost revenue back or accept it.

You might be right with respect to "if you like it, it's worth your money". That being, it's not a rip-off to the die hard fans.

But come one, I bet it costs Lucas peanuts to put up/move that webcam around and send out emails of 'never-seen-before' pics.

I just can't see paying for something, that in essence, probably doesn't cost much to implement.

    Get my point?
