Phish has been doing this for ages. I have an official CD of the Philadelphia concert I attended. Although, it wasn't instant (took a few months for it to go on sale)
If you're wondering how loads of those ascii-pictures are made, check out BG_ASCII. It's a wonderful program (Yes, it can convert JPG to ASCII), and by the looks of things, this is what they used.
If you're loooking to do original ASCII art, check out Email Effects, and check out #SAC on EFNET for the Superior Art Creations!
I can't stand ads with noise. I listen to music really loudly on headphones. Then all of a sudden I hear "BUY A TOYATA" and blow an eardrum.
Thank god I switched to Opera - no more pop ups, but some banner flash ads still get to me.
I've always wondered if it would be possible to make some sort of mint or pill, etc, that would highten senses in the taste buds to make kissing better......not that I have a girlfreind or anything.
Wouldn't this mean that all computers would have to be connected to the internet at all times to be part of the group? This might not be a problem for those with broad-band, but what about those that still use dial-up?
Has anybody else noticed how since the graphics of consoles have been getting better, the ratings on the games are getting higher? I'm sure sure loads of "KA" SNES games would be "T" or "M" if they were recreated in High-res 3d.
It used to be that a game was good if it was fun and innovative. Now the more pixelated gore a game has, the better it sells. Miyamamoaoto(sp?) maybe making games that seem kiddie now, but that's just because they don't meet the gorey standards of what a game needs to have to be 'mature'. Hardcore gamers still know that Miyamoto's are just as fun as they were back in the day.
Or maybe it's because I was a kid back in the day...

I wish I could call my playing to much video games something scientific like that.
*sighs, goes back to playing PS2*
Am I the only one that enjoys spam? It's rather nice to have email on slow days, and some of it is kind of amusing..
But then again, I am a sad and lonely person...
Its a nice article, but is the link to Winnipeg Transit really necessary?
I know the people who run boob and dcvision, and they're all very closly tied with dcemu.

Hey! The Dreamcast Scene is just as hot right now, especially now that SDL has been ported!

Proxies. My school filters out most sites, even MSN. Find yourself a nice proxy, and keep on /.ing
Yes, but only the best Magna makes it to the US, which is why it seems so good to the average american comic-buyer.

There was a patch for this bug available months ago. Isn't it possible that some of the problem could be attributed to the website administrators?

I loved Chex Quest! Especially the way it ate my hard drive that one time. But remember the big spoon gun on level 3? That was sweet.
Yep. And it was on Fark 2 days before that.
How much pollution comes from making the anti-pollution robots... Do those exist?
Dosen't bother me. I make my own with Font Creator Program. Of course, I'm not on linux.

Perhaps its time to re-think the rating system?
I just cracked it...
I hope that's sarcasm. No "Great Comuter Vehicle" has ever had giant rotating blades in arms reach.
Thanks, the others have been well and truly slashdotted.

But is it worth it to save 5 or 10 minutes? 52x media must be a hell of a lot more expensive than normal 12x CDr's.

I haven't even touched the CD that came with my cable modem, thank you very much. It's full of that transfer monitering crap - isn't it?
Comcast...grumble...
