  1. I like spam... on My Short Life As An Unintentional Porn Spammer · · Score: 1

Am I the only one that enjoys spam? It's rather nice to have email on slow days, and some of it is kind of amusing..

But then again, I am a sad and lonely person...

  2. Unneccesary Links on Build Your Own LCD Bus Schedule · · Score: 1

Its a nice article, but is the link to Winnipeg Transit really necessary?

  3. Re:Dreamcast... on Xbox Media Player Contest · · Score: 1

I know the people who run boob and dcvision, and they're all very closly tied with dcemu.

  4. Dreamcast... on Xbox Media Player Contest · · Score: 4, Informative

" turns everyone's favorite hackable console (the Xbox) "

Hey! The Dreamcast Scene is just as hot right now, especially now that SDL has been ported!

  5. Phish on Instant Concert CDs? · · Score: 1

Phish has been doing this for ages. I have an official CD of the Philadelphia concert I attended. Although, it wasn't instant (took a few months for it to go on sale)

  6. Re:Ouch. on Negative Effects of Workplace Net Monitoring · · Score: 1

Proxies. My school filters out most sites, even MSN. Find yourself a nice proxy, and keep on /.ing

  7. Re:Better stories... on Why Does Manga Succeed Where American Comics Fail? · · Score: 1

Yes, but only the best Magna makes it to the US, which is why it seems so good to the average american comic-buyer.

  8. The power apps... on Appreciation For All Things ASCII · · Score: 5, Interesting

If you're wondering how loads of those ascii-pictures are made, check out BG_ASCII. It's a wonderful program (Yes, it can convert JPG to ASCII), and by the looks of things, this is what they used. If you're loooking to do original ASCII art, check out Email Effects, and check out #SAC on EFNET for the Superior Art Creations!

  9. Ads with noise on Slashback: Slammer, Frames, Pop-Ups · · Score: 5, Funny

I can't stand ads with noise. I listen to music really loudly on headphones. Then all of a sudden I hear "BUY A TOYATA" and blow an eardrum. Thank god I switched to Opera - no more pop ups, but some banner flash ads still get to me.

  10. Kissing on Tampering with Taste Buds for Better Coffee? · · Score: 5, Funny

I've always wondered if it would be possible to make some sort of mint or pill, etc, that would highten senses in the taste buds to make kissing better... ...not that I have a girlfreind or anything.

  11. Webmaster Responsibilities on Microsoft Blasted For Lax Security · · Score: 1

There was a patch for this bug available months ago. Isn't it possible that some of the problem could be attributed to the website administrators?

  12. Internet Connections on A Simple Grid Computing Synchronization Solution · · Score: 0

Wouldn't this mean that all computers would have to be connected to the internet at all times to be part of the group? This might not be a problem for those with broad-band, but what about those that still use dial-up?

  13. Re:Chex Doom! on Advergames · · Score: 1, Funny

I loved Chex Quest! Especially the way it ate my hard drive that one time. But remember the big spoon gun on level 3? That was sweet.

  14. Fark on Why VHS Was Better Than Betamax · · Score: 0

  17. Graphics/Violence on Congress To Consider Age Limits On Violent Games · · Score: 2, Interesting

Has anybody else noticed how since the graphics of consoles have been getting better, the ratings on the games are getting higher? I'm sure sure loads of "KA" SNES games would be "T" or "M" if they were recreated in High-res 3d.

Perhaps its time to re-think the rating system?

  18. What a shame... on Microsoft Introduces Its Own CD Copy-Inhibition Scheme · · Score: 1
  19. Re:Damn! on The End of Solotrek · · Score: 1

Thanks, the others have been well and truly slashdotted.

  21. The mases have bad tastes. on Miyamoto vs. Everyone Else · · Score: 1

It used to be that a game was good if it was fun and innovative. Now the more pixelated gore a game has, the better it sells. Miyamamoaoto(sp?) maybe making games that seem kiddie now, but that's just because they don't meet the gorey standards of what a game needs to have to be 'mature'. Hardcore gamers still know that Miyamoto's are just as fun as they were back in the day. Or maybe it's because I was a kid back in the day...

  22. Cheap media... on CDRW Drives Hit 52X Speeds · · Score: 0, Redundant

But is it worth it to save 5 or 10 minutes? 52x media must be a hell of a lot more expensive than normal 12x CDr's.
