California is the absolute best place in the US to live.(in my opinion and at least 12% of the population)
My theory:
Anyone who can afford to live in California does...
The problem:
too many people in the Golden State paradise...
solution: Make it more expensive to live there in any way possible.
Eventually the "Less desirables" will be forced to just vacate and the elite can just have their own personal West coast. How is it that my income places me in the top 10% but I can't afford to live on California, where 12% of the nation lives:-) a paradox

Whoever moderated this post "Redundant" is an evil, evil person...
Or just added a new depth to the joke, since Redundant is part of the acronym
It creates all kinds of heat, I pay 2 dollars per gallon and it is pretty much not going to last for more than a decade at best.
It pollutes the air, costs $20,000 or more, and is highly inefficient.
Moreover, these cars have accidents EVERY DAY and the roads they have to drive on are crowded and in bad repair.
there is plenty of aircraft that is cheaper and sometimes even more fuel efficient... and it is certainly faster, but I just dont plain know how to use it or where or how to buy it.
I guess all the windows users are just "Stuck in traffic"
Their "dominance" will wither away, and quickly, if they don't start doing something about security issues.
That's like saying the U.S. is going to start to lose population quickly if they don't do something about their Medical Care or Foreign Policy. Sure Canada might have a lower crime rate and better medical care, but people just aren't willing to move away from a life that is warm, familiar, easy, etc.
No matter what happens to windows, users will probably never switch, and certainly not "Quickly" (speaking in terms of a percentage)
Then proceed to work 80 hour weeks to meet the new deadline. This is what I have done every time a company I have worked for has tried "Outsourcing" err I mean every time outsourcing has failed (which is 100% of the time in my experience)
0 for 5 in three companies... way to go
having watched some DVD "entertainment" on errr a friend's Projector based Home Theater system, I have to say that I prefer the 25 inch TV. Even VHS is not pretty when watch on a larger screen...
The formats have already surpassed the quality of the porn stars.
I created an account just for spam, and about 300 messages per day got past my filters.
one day I got bored and "unsubscribed" to about 100 messages. The effect was not immediate, but within a week it was down to about 50 messages/day, so I started unsubscribing again. Today it gets about 15-25 per day, and I have stopped hitting unsubscribe (and stopped using that address as spam account thanks to gmail's spam address feature).
I think my brother may have coded it out of a "Kit" but anyway we always called it "Droid"... you were this guy with a rocket pack and you had a gun... there were like 3 levels then it loops around and has faster enemies on the first level. you can shoot a bird that is fying and he turns into a cooked turkey and hits the ground and if you get it you get points. The first level was all green, the second was red, and the third was blue and had killer flowers on the bottom platform. I figure I might as well try to steal this post to answer childhood questions.
ok lets settle this... the iPod is not the only way to listen to music, and the mac is not the only way to use an iPod. I wish most users could understand this. Of course I guess if you are going to drop the $10,000 to legitimatly fill your iPod you might as well also throw in a $4,000 computer to go with it.
I am glad someone is pioneering this, because I have always thought that Free HBO with ad banners would make executives and consumers smile. Now, the fact that people have to pay for tivo with ads is pretty annoying what are they AOL??
ok not really, but I have heard record amounts of people say "I dunno, I am gonna buy it but I dont wanna be a gangsta, I wanna be tommy vercetti" I get the distinct impression that people (fellow geeks) are having a hard time adjusting to having a black main character.
the "has played it" part of me says, thank god it filled in the gaps Vice City left, such as swimming instead of instant death when you touch water, Police motorcycles, etc. Also, I hopped on the highway drove like 100s of miles into the boonies and never hit an invisible wall, this has to be 100 times the size as vice city's world.
There are plenty of games where the WHOLE GAME is riding a bicycle, so I don't quite understand that comment...
Do you think coke barrons like the fictionalized "scarface" didn't kill innocent people?
Maybe it is because the nineties were so close to you, or maybe because you went through the D.A.R.E. program and have "Gangs are bad m'kay" engrained into your head.

great I can just hear the RIAA ad now.
I just lost 5 minutes of my life that my employer will never get back...
Man if I had known that this software was vulnerable to worms I would never have bought it.

as well as social behavior... thank god you can finally be all alone in your own virtual world, just like in the real one.

thank god, I was wondering when they would tone it down and make something "Ordinary"
that is IT, thanks man

again that is why I said most users. and I use the mp3 format to pirate audiobooks too... geez the nerve.
ok so how much do you make per hour and how long does it take to rip each CD? Now how much did it cost to fill your iPod?

In a mini-mall writing code... we just sold the software for a couple million... I guess rural sourcing works
Personally, I want to make a simple real-world RTS game involving a punchclock and some wind-up toys.
punchclock = turn-based?
eclipse still included fire, so it was not airplane-able.
I dont understand the trend toward retrofitting the web instead of upgrading the phone...
I personally have 2 phones that are more than capable of using the Real google or real yahoo search pages.
Plenty of phones can use the web just fine, and you will probably be happier than with 250 characters of search results at a time...
why use keyhole when NASA has a FREE and open source solution, which looks very similar WorldWind
of course it only runs on windows... Open Source.Net
it may not be as geared toward streetmaps, but I have found it useful for finding back roads and stuff.
