I gave a way a few hundred copies of FF - and some other free utilities - at work and I have had a lot of people say they prefered it to IE. It's happening, Reg.
I only use IE when I am *required* to do so, but there's the rub: there are too many things that do not work unless you use IE. The user agent switcher is nice, but it doesn't always work.
For irony's sake, I'll list the biggest offender (in so many ways) in my life: *IBM*'s Lotus Notes.
It's getting to the point where OSes will need DVD media because the installation routines are so large. XP is huge and Longhorn will make it look lean and mean by comparison. I would imagine by the time it's actually shipping, the service packs will be over a gig.;-)
Yahoo is upgrading its mail service today - when I finally did get in, I had a new interface and 100 Meg of space in my mailbox. I am already benefitting from Google's email service and I haven't even signed up yet.:-)
I hated school so much I refused to go to college out of HS. I worked through a string of low-paying "shit" jobs. Funny thing, I was usually much smarter that the people in charge, but I was making less than they were and they were telling me what to do. They had degrees,
One day, I got lucky and got a job that paid quite well - an industrial manufacturing job. My first day on the job, an old man walked up to me, asked me how old I was and then told me to look good and hard at him. He was old, worn out and broken down - a life of manual labor had taken quite a toll on him. It was his last day there - he was retiring. The old man told me not to let what happened to him happen to me.
That night, I applied to a local community college.
It took 10 years to get my bachelor's degree (night school and working a full time job to pay for it). I missed out on a lot of "fun." I wasted a lot of time I can never get back.
Terrorists? Why, stopping people from doing *that* would be like Big Brother, and we wouldn't want that.
"And the anti-spammers, I call them terrorists, were calling up my 84-year-old mother (leaving obscene messages)," said Mr. Balan, a former long-haul trucker now in his early 50s."
Evidently, you haven't had the pleasure of dealing with a vendor that prays 5 times a day to Redmond. It's "use Explorer, or get no support." And it's very difficult to tell the phbs who selected that vendor in the first place (those whiz-bang powerpoint presentations, you know) that they were wrong and you should change vendors immediately.

or exploit it for his own ends....
Seeing as he's seen how badly an administration can abuse the Patriot Act, he's likely to want to amend it.
He has had three years and has made no attempts at revising the Patriot Act, but I'm sure he has a plan to.
Seeing as he voted for the Patriot Act, not likely.
BSD is dead and now this....
Isn't incomplete or false registration information grounds for getting a domain shut down? I'm just asking.
And people thought they couldn't even get arrested...
You should take a look at Loathsome Notes.
They just swat their keyboards and hope for the best. :-)

Or just don't walk around with it on your head...
You are thinking of Senator Orin Hatch. Ernest Hollings is one of the RIAA's main bitches, but Hatch is the Mormon one.

Suck it up, and get the degree.
The Prius won't do what these vehicles are desinged for, although they might make good vehicles for couriers.
Also, my neighbor is a poohbah at a local Toyota dealership and he tells me there is a two-year waiting list to get one.
As opposed to the methodical way SCO's lawyers have conducted their case?
Quote: Frankly, I'm convinced SCO will win this thing just because of the disorganization and lack of best practices in the Open Source community.
Until you go to the bathroom....
>>You may look like a retard with one of these, but at least you won't get beat up!
1. Stop suing them.
2. Then start selling an actual product.
3. Profit.
I can't wait to see how Laura Didio spins this one as a plus for SCO.

If you can't eat their food, drink their liquor and **ck their women and still vote your conscience, you have no business being here.....
Spell-checked with my free copy of Office 2003, which is great, btw.
Registered does a lot of parodies. I have seen much of his work - he's funny. I think if push came to shove, he would be ok on this basis alone.
Darl will get royally fucked - in prison.
