Light pollution is bad enough ALREADY can you imagine if there was man-made super-energized particle signs in the sky, what would be left of the natural beauty of the stars?
Shouldn't something like this be illegal unless it was for good use? Ruining the night sky for me just about does it.
Well, exactly. Hybrids aren't speed machines, but fuel-efficient (With prices the way they are..) Middle class viable hybrids could revolutionize the way we travel.
Who cares? They wanted to dispel the myth about hybrids. Do you think Model-T's were hitting 130 down the flats? They still have a long way to go, sure. But it seems they're coming along nicely
Marathon was a great game. I think its gameplay AND story far surpasses halo. It's was really fun to replay the game when I was older, as reading all the information that's available on terminals and such makes the game SO much better.
You can play it in a kind-of redoing of the engine if you have the original data files with Aleph One is available (it's open source, too!) Be sure to check out the official Bungie Marathon site for more info.
With their half-baked licensing scheme someone who contributes (FOR FREE!!!) loses a lot of rights associated with their work.. what the HELL is that about? Isn't OpenSource abour sharing and free-rights... not IP swindling 3 page license agreements and all this crap
I can't wait for people to start selling clothing with built in faraday cages, or a stylist alternative to the woeful 'tinfoil hat'... a (insert favorite h4x0r phrase here) hat with a built in faraday cage!
Well, we have only been closely looking at mars for (in an astronomical sense) a fraction of a second. Just because there hasn't been any evidence of eruption yet doesn't really mean anything.
Mars does have a molten core, according to JPL. Strikingly similar to both earth, and venus. Interesting stuff, none the less.
These stories (Private spaceflight) are one of the few things that strike me as awesome. Simply because of all the science fiction I have read, and interest in space flight...
It's amazing how fast it's coming along since the X-Prize, with some great (and very rich!) minds at the forefront.
With all these people buying iPod's solely because they're a 'status symbol'... remember cellphones in 96-01.... combine the two and you have the ULTIMATE LOOK COOL DEVICE
I can see it now, a poor kid taking out his iPhone and talking into it (with nobody on the other line, of course) pretending to look cool....
yow yow yow
A word in the story really offends me...

I consider myself to be one of the few real Jedi's on this earth, and using of such a sacred word in such a joking manner offends me greatly.

I think this is a good point. Comparing a large collection of weather predictions to what actually happened would just further increase the accuracy of models until we have it pretty darn good
Well, it's not a 'popular internet legend' it just became one.
It happened in the eighties, somewhere around 97 it started to go around the internet with numerous facts changed, including ""A helicopter after he floated out to sea"
He actually got tangled in powerlines.
Don't these 'mythbusters' do their freaking homework? god

Will this really protect people who succumb to phishing in the first place?
If you're going to fall for one of the oldest tricks in the book, I don't think this new-fangled anti-phishing toolbar is going to do you any help.
Heh, I tried selling pieces of an 'asteroid' on ebay before, too!
When the buyer found out that it was just rocks from my back yard, he was pretty heated! Damn you B612 for stealing

Okay, so the last 'format war' with betamax / VHS
We had a superior product backed by sony (betamax, blue-ray)
We have an inferior product that's baked by a few major studios, and gaining momentum..
Will this turn out the same as the betamax debauchle? Only time will tell!
Oh man.. I can't wait for this to go mainstream..
