Okay, you can mod me down, I know it's offtopic, but I'm out of options.

I recently took a mom's friend to Fry's and he paid $800 for parts et cetera... I put the box together for him. AMD 2500+ (in a barebones system) Radeon 9800 Pro, 512mb mushkin ram... put the "Cool Gear" turbine looking fan on it, attatched firmly and in place..

Boot up, install windows, everything is peachy

Two days later, after his Comcast cable is installed, the computer won't turn on.. I go over there thinking it was some trivial problem, to my horror, when you hit the power switch, the LED just blinks real fast and turns off, no activity.. Thinking it was a power issue, I switched the little red switch on the back of the power supply to 215v instead of 115v... the computer turns on! Fans come on, hard drive spins! But.. no post, monitor showing default test screen (For the monitor) nothing, nada.. lights are on but nobody's home.

Now, I have my theories (power supply issue mainly, shoddy barebones system.. dunno about the powersupply in it) but I'm wondering if anyone could give me any advice? Could it be a burnt processor? (I inspected the processor, no signs of burning, smell, arcing, nothing) any help would be greatly appreciated..

I feel like a slimebag, I built them this computer (they even paid me) and now it doesn't work and i'm at a loss of what to do about it, and with no system to troubleshoot it with, please help!
