Ah... Now you are talking along my line of thought. When a terrorist (or activist with extreme thoughts) takes over a plane, you do not (as a passenger) know what his intensions are. At this point in time, you don not care - you are simply going to take away his ability to commit whatever act he had in mind - even if you did not know he simply wanted to only have 15 minutes of "air time" on national TV to talk about alien conspiracy theories. You aren't aware he only wants that while in your seat - but in this day and age you cannot take that chance. So you fight - even to the death.

This is the only way to deal with those whose intentions are unknown but threatening - whether on a plane or next door. Pro-active is what you stated - and that is all our government is attempting to do.

You must think that every Englishman was killed "righteously" in battle. This is not rocket science people. War is NOT FAIR. It is not just and it WILL trample on the rights of individuals, even innocent ones. What, you think our own revolutionary soldiers did everything perfect? You are quoting a phrase from a time you obviously do not understand. Chaos is synonomous with war.

I find it interesting that people pretend to be righteous under the flag of freedom. See the movie "Red Dawn". You don't think terrorists can take over a small community and hold them at will? (um, if they can take over a plane of 100+ passengers - what makes you think they cannot hold a community hostage?) WAKE UP! If you choose to fight back after they've killed your neighbors and friends, will you be "honest and just" or more interested in wiping them off the planet? Your indignation shows your inability to fathom actual possibilities...

Rip to hard drive in folders.. (SmartRipper) Select the stream for only the vid/audio track you want...(this can reduce movie sizes significantly) you'll end of with an m2v and ac3 file. Use SpruceItUp (I don't think this is commercially available any longer) to import the files into the authoring program (it handles 5.1 channel ac3). Repeat process and import to same saved spruce file - this will get huge at some point). Create Menus by categories, to other menus that lead to the movies. When its time to burn, choose write to hard drive - select folder and compile.

When all is done, you'll need to use IFOEdit to convert the screen formats back to 16x9 for wide screen (don't know why this is broken).

At this point, simply use PowerDVD to open the main IFO file and you are in business... 16x9 and DD to boot (for all movies). Granted this is a lengthy process, but it beats having to switch DVDs in and out....

    My 2 cents..

The above are tried and true methods of encrypting data. If the end user simply runs a client (3DES IPSEC) or uses the well known SSL standard (no client needed) between themselves and your NOC/Colo/Facilities - you can gaurantee a measure of security for their data.

(public) school. According to what she's personally observed, this is exactly the TOOL needed to help maintain good order and discipline.

Based on some comments here, fear of "Big Brother" observing teacher performance or monitoring kids activities seems as overwhelming as the comments of "we don't need the government adding more of intrusion into our lives.

You can't have it both ways and maintain good order. On the one hand, liberals have successfully removed corporal punishment from public education, leaving "less painful" alternatives (and tieing) teacher's hands. On the other hand, they also want to keep out the government or others from "monitoring" classrooms.

Kids have no respect of authority if you cannot properly enforce the rules. This isn't made up BS, it is from listening about the horror stories of "real life" situations.

Many parents side with their children when it comes to the school enforcing the punishments. They cannot seem to believe that "their little Johnny" would never be so horrible. Video would make it impossible for the parents to deny the bad behavior their child is exhibiting poor behavior. This allows administrators to spend less time performing BS Parent/Teacher sessions and more time improving their school.

Plus, as pointed out in other posts, teachers may actually be encouraged to "be all they can be". I can put out three names of Jr. High teachers who could care less about their student's academia and more about being "popular" with the students. One of them in particular (Phys Ed) doesn't even have a 5th grade spelling level.
