Yeah, but that's the old Connectix version, the one that doesn't work with the G5 due to a missing instruction set. My question is whether they're going to take the effort to rewrite the codebase to get it working again on the Mac, or if they're going to just stop development.
Quite ironic that a Macintosh solution for emulating Windows turned into a PC solution for emulating itself. The Mac version used to be able to emulate Linux, it's the phrasing in the article where they say Mac users won't be able to anymore that worries me.
Actually, from the article it looks a little confusing about whether or not they actually will continue to develop Virtual PC for OSX... This has me worried personally.
Holy Fuck! Does this mean that my G5 might soon be capable of playing x86 games? I mean, the hardware is pretty much the same as what they're gonna be putting into the X-Box...
Just as long as they aren't douches and drop mac support for VPC completely, this would kick ass. At least it means they're gonna try to fix the PPC970 compatibility issue with Virtual PC.
I once mixed a bag of skittles with a beer at a party (towards the end of the party, if you get my meaning)... The results were not good. It got all cloudy, and tasted something like bile. If anything, it became more bitter.
Might be better results with mixed drinks, I don't know.
Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis, Isn't it frightfully good to have a dong? It's swell to have a stiffy, It's divine to own a dick, From the tiniest little tadger, To the world's biggest prick.
So three cheers for you will or John Thomas, Hooray for you're one-eyed trouser snake, Your piece of pork, you're wife's best friend, Your percy or your cock, You can wrap it up in ribbions, You can slip it in your sock, But don't take it out in public, or they will stick you in the dock, And you won't come back.
I remember my first "portable" hard drive... It weighed ten pounds, whirred louder than a G4 Windtunnel despite being slow as all hell, recquired bigass centronics scsi cables, and an active terminator. And it stored 100MB.
Dude, I love macs, but something tells me they didn't order all those computers with DVD-Burners in EACH ONE. And I don't know how much of a workout the PCI bus will be getting, unless they've got some new networking cards.
If such things violate the DMCA, then this is precisely what we need to get some of that overturned. This would be a major profit opportunity for Sony, so if they turn their full legal backbone behind it, some of the more restricted aspects of the new copyright law might become more lenient.
Apple is not the sole distributer of PPC systems. I think IBM sells a few, and possibly Sun. But these are mostly marketed at the high-end server market, and I don't think you can run Mac OS on them.
Wait, so does this mean they'll actually be able to shut the gate at a train crossing when a train is actually approaching? I recall waiting close to an hour (it's worse sometimes) for the train to actually pass, due to the fact that the gates are arbitrarily scheduled, and the train drivers have no sense of time.
Amidst the bombard of vendors during the wait, at least I know now where to obtain a false passport.
Wait a second, since when was it possible for Bond to be seduced? 007 has a pretty good level of resistance to that stuff. Name one Fleming book where Bond allows himself to become attached to a girl that Bond isn't using for his own purposes.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service excepted, of course.
I thought the internet was created by Fermi Lab, to share information between various accelerator labs around the world at high speeds. There should be book about this.
Actually, I'd rather have a format that I can play on my iPod. I don't believe the protected WMA files can play on anything other than a Windows computer, so these files are pretty useless to people who don't like to listen to their music at their desks.
Oh, and I believe the iTunes store is coming out with a windows version soon, to help support all those folks on the PC who helped make iPod the reference for MP3 players.
Okay, I have to admit that I only saw the first episode, and after that stayed well away after hearing a slew of bad press and fan reviews. Also, the time slot was really bad, I interperated that as the network trying to keep it from being showed to unreceptive fans. So, maybe I should've given it a bigger shot, but I was really weary of having my great opinion of Babylon 5 torn asunder by a network-squabbled spinoff.
I've often wondered why the Sci-FI channel goes to such incredible lengths to alienate what would be one of its key audiences, specifically, the Buck Rogers/escapism crowd. Fantasy-ish shows dealing with interesting issues through the use of cartoonish characters that serve as a foil for the seriousness of situations always seemed to be at the heart of science fiction for me. Yet when I turn on the Sci-Fi channel for some light entertainment, more often than not I'm greated with some awful, disturbing horror movie.
Granted, these shows are cheap, but Sci-Fi got great ratings (i think) when they brought Star Trek to the network, proving that light entertainment is appreciated. So why the realism in a Battlestar Galactica show? Why the heck is Sci-Fi so dark?
About this, I've been wishing for months that someone would make a Hawk-man model, with like a hoverchair or something. I actually thought about modifying the Professor Xavier model from the X-Men Quake TC, but I'm too lazy. Anyone up for the challenge?
I haven't seen a CPU tab on any System Preferences windows on any of my Dual Processor systems through OS 10.2.6. Is this new to 10.2.7, or some sort of developer patch?
I believe this is useful to allow developers to better understand their applications performance on a single cpu system, without the need to buy yet another mac. I believe that's why the tool is offered from the Developers portion of the site.
I also remember a few games having issues on dual processor computers, a while back. Though most of these issues have been resolved now, it'd be interesting to see if the problems cleared up if you disabled a cpu.
I don't know about you guys, but I still don't think CGI is ready for the big time. In every movie it looks so obvious that there was CGI used that it almost ruins the movie for me.
It's not that you can't tell that it's CG, it's that it's done in a way that you don't care that it's CG. It's obvious from the looks of him that Gollum doesn't really exist, but then again, hobbits don't exist but we're willing to accept them as characters. It was the natural nature of Gollum's movement that allowed someone to accept him as a character, to the point that (some) people cared about him. You can put people in costumes in front of a bluescreen, but if they can't convey a sense of their characters (through acting) then they're no better than Jar-Jar.
You can listen to 30 second clips of every song in apple's library, in full quality. Though I did download an album and end up with slightly better sound quality. The samples, though, let you get a good idea of the quality of the music that you're getting.
No, The Simpsons dealt with an amendment, specifically to eliminate freedom of speech as it applied to no-good hippies. Simpsons had the Amendment to Be, while Schoolhouse Rock had the bill sitting on capital hill.

So this is what happens when Chuck-E-Cheese lays off their entertainment.

Obligatory burst into song:

The only thing that seems good about this is that it's a bit on the inexpensive side. But it runs Linux, so it must be Great!

But will it be worse than Babylon 5: Crusade? They really fought to keep that show from being aired, such a travesty it was.

I read this and immediately thought of Spaceballs. Ludicrous speed! They've gone to plaid!
