I am also unsure of whether or not action gamers... will buy into a title that seems to lack the excessive fiction, approachability and interactivity that drive practically all of today's modern games.
While these 'fictional' shooters are indeed fun, I've found myself quite taken with games like Call of Duty, and Battlefield 1942 whereas i used to be into Half Life, Gore, Doom, etc.. I seem play these types of games to put myself in the shoes (boots) of those that actually went to war, and less and less about just killing things.
Maybe it's just me getting a little older...who knows..
Doesnt seem right to me

The spokesman, who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said by telephone that the space forces had detected an object along the station's orbit. They determined that the object was very small and would pose no danger to the craft.
Shouldnt they at the very least notify the crew to inform them of the junk nearby? And possibly practice a drill for this sort of thing.
Seems to me they lucked out this time, if that had been a bigger piece of junk which would cause major damage, and had ground control had seen it and not said anything, we would have plenty of different headlines this morning.
Would a desalination plant remove the caffine? If the 'filtering' of the water being dumped into bodies of water doesnt do it, when it comes back into our pipes will it be caffinated also?
Seems to me we will all be a bunch of caffine addicts in the future.
If this monster has been in the game since the games inception, how does it get it's hitpoints back?
When no players are in the immediate vicinity (ie: viewable) of it?
In my experience in these types of games, if i get into a fight with a monster, then die/give up against it, it will then wander around with the remainder of its hit points until it dies.
of an article I read a while back, about "URL hiding by using alternate character set". I did a little bit of searching, and come up with this
One problem with non-Latin scripts is that
cybersquatters could begin registering non-Latin versions of popular domain
names in order to divert viewers from intended destinations. Two Israeli
students did just that in order to make an international point: They
registered microsoft.com using the Russian Cyrillic "o" and "c," an
international domain that looks exactly like microsoft.com in English even
though it is in fact a different domain name.
All my incomming mail comes through SpamAssassin (cant remember which version off the top of my head), and once in a blue moon a single piece of spam will manage to find it's way through. When it does, I guess i should just applaud the spammer for being so devious.
TrollAssasin would be nice, imagine seeing posts subjects as *****TROLL***** heh
There's nothing i hate more than trying to retreat to the nearest town to save my sorry mage ass. The wife used to play an RPG, cant remember which at this time, which would allow you to become invulnerable to those 'invisble wandering' monsters until the item/spell wore out. Maybe have this as an spell/item in more RPG's as a way to deal with this rather annoying issue. But hey...these _are_ after all RPGs.
The First Level of the game is called "Survival School," and the players have to help Lucky Pierre survive 24 hours without red wine or creme brule. The Second Level is "Capitulation," and the goal here is to see which player can have Lucky Pierre surrender the fastest without firing a shot or getting his uniform dirty.
The Simpsons Kamp Krusty episode, when 'Mr Black' was dubbed over Krusty's voice in the video.
Krusty: (on TV) Hi Kids! Welcome to Kamp Krusty! Hoo huh hoo heh ha heh! I'll see you in a few weeks! Until then, I turn things over to my bestest buddy in the whole wide world, Mr. Black . I want you to treat Mr. Black with the same respect you would give me. Now here's Mr. Black
I used to play Desert Combat a lot a while back. I started playing with a clan (to get the whole 'teamplay' experience) who were involved in gaming league. During these games, there would be two spectators present, one on either team. These two specs would do a play by play of the game, both in contact with each other at the same time, and they would shoutcast these matches to the masses. These broadcasts also had a slight time delay to avoid cheating by either team.
One of these shoutcast groups is Team Sports Network you can listen to live games, or download past matches.
Finally, although it may be that Tokyo Game Show attendees "tend to be hardcore gamers", thus skewing the results, "ownership of [Xbox] ranked lower than five consoles that aren't even in production", including the Dreamcast and Saturn.
I always thought hardcore gamers were the ones who went out and bought every new console with as many games as they could get their hands on. Not someone who is a generation or more behind on hardware/games.
What if someone had attempted to use their Roadside assistance system, only to find it not working, which resulted in more damages to that person or their property. And if said person was able to prove the FBI had commandeered their system, would the FBI be liable for the damages?
"However, there are some elements who have an almost religious zealousness about Linux," he added. "In some ways, that can be scary for anyone opposing their positions." - Darl McBride
Pfft, wait till you make a beowulf cluster crack darl...
To push it out of our orbit, and see what kind of images is gets while it heads out of our solar system (and beyond maybe)? Or is is calibrated in such a way that it can only serve its purpose from our orbit?
Uh.. mods might want to check this link again before modding it up 'interesting', seeing as the article isnt even real. Other headlines on that site include "POWER OUTAGE HID MARTIAN INVASION" and "SCI-FI FANBOYS WANT HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ROBOTS".
I have yet to have a problem with it, and ironically enough, i just re-imaged my workstation with it in a couple of minutes across the network before seeing this article.
We can save disk images to the network, and pull them across that way, or simply put them on cd(s).
I'm all about getting rid of my landline, but i'm a DSL customer. If I were to get rid of my phone, would DSL still be able to be used on that line?
Has anyone had any knowledge about this?
Is it just the phone companies way of getting more $ out of people saying you need a _working_ phone on that line for dsl, or does it actually require a working phone #? (escapes me as to why it would)
I was just wondering the same thing in relation to XM Radio, to which i found this:
XM-Radio is a Satellite Based Radio Broadcast System that operates around 2.3 GHz from two 15,000 watt satellites; one named "ROCK," at 115 Degrees West, the other named "ROLL" at 85.0 Degrees West. The significance of this service and that of Sirius Radio, a similar service, is that these services need to "fill in" the shadows caused by buildings and other structures that may block the satellite signal.
To accomplish this, XM-Radio alone will set up about 1,500 high-power terrestrial repeaters. Each market will typically have dual repeaters at 2337.485 MHz and 2340.015 MHz.
A hefty buffer is an integral part of each receiver, and is very practical when going through tunnels.
Using a buffer of sorts for the signal would definitely deal with this issue. As for XM using 1,500 repeaters, i'm not really sure if this would be done for TV signals also.
the same thing the other day in relation to science, where we have 100's of institutions finding cures/treatments for the same thing, each basically reinventing the wheel all over again. Lot's of people united togeather on one project would probably reap more benifits that a bunch of smaller projects reaching for the same goal.

on EA's official site they have a couple 'making of' videos here which were kind of interesting.
I saw the commercial the other day and coulnt believe my eyes, quite the impressive looking game.

As if the N-Gage wasnt having enough problems, now what reason do people have to actually pay money for this thing?

Spammer gets arrested for spamming an FBI agent.
FTC has shut down D Squared for spamming one of their commissioners.
Something isnt right here.... why is it _only_ when something starts affecting those in power, they decide to do something about it..
So...do we have to wait for George W. Bush's pc to lock up while playing solitaire for the govt to move away from windows? (besides pentagon use)
