Its supposed to hook scientists and researchers together over a "network" where computers can exchange information. It would be neat if this technology would some day be available to everyone!
From the Peace Corps website: "Currently, 6,678 Peace Corps volunteers are serving in 70 countries, working to bring clean water to communities, teach children, help start new small businesses, and stop the spread of AIDS. Since 1961, more than 168,000 Americans have joined the Peace Corps, serving in 136 nations." These people most likely dont have the skills to combat cyber terrorism and are using the skills they do have to set up small networks and get people on the internet.
Agreed. Anyway, how many priceless artifacts have been destroyed by the massive tunneling the Iraqis have done to hide weapons. I am sure that preserving antiquities was not their highest priority.
Its the inability to impose proper sentences for violent criminals and drug offenders. I have no sympathy for people invading companies computers for whatever reason and they should be punished harshly. I have better things to do on my weekends then combat those assholes. But there is a need for reform in the way punishment is administered for violent criminals and longer sentences need to be handed out.
I have started reading Pattern Recognition after re-reading Count Zero and it definitely doesnt have the same immediate impact. The earlier book hits you hard in the first paragraph and does not let up. His works are interesting not just for the good writing, but also the creative ideas he has deaking with the future of technology.
There hasn't been much discussion of this film in recent weeks leading up to the nominations. I think it was a much more cohesive and better acted than Gangs of New York.

Evidently if you don't make sure the little switch is in the right position in the back and plug it into high voltage, the things tend to be a little tempermental. Loud pop, a little smoke and no more SUN.
That series became pretty interesting in the last couple years and left some unfinished story lines. I would rather see movies based on that series coming up with weak plots like the one for Nemesis.
That of Bremen Linux specialist univention _ obtained regional court before that of Bremen against the SCO Group GmbH a provisional order
Philip Dick is definitely the father of cyberpunk and a great writer as well. Plenty of good stories if you can find them.
It is probably going to be implemented down the road, but how many companies are actually ready to use it?

Have you implemented this? It looks like a nice improvement for Snort, but I am wary of the automatic patching capabilities.
Camel Joe shouldn't have a monopoly on inappropriate advertising aimed at children. Nice to be able to have a smoke while you are gambling, kids!

It the great /. tradition of saying something fast rather than saying it properly. Nice work!

Surely its a better movie than any musical?
Thanks for these intriguing comments Mr. Gates:)

I was at Vulkon Las Vegas that weekend
Well if it works on tanks, it should be pretty effective on people. In any case it would be a good way to test those bandages.
