This is fairly significant because passive investors such as S&P index funds, which are popular investment vehicles, will be purchasing shares for their portfolios. This will add more liquidity to the market for Red Hat shares which should help them garner more positive attention from investors. During these times of high volatility, the purchasers of stocks are constantly asking themselves, "if I get into a stock, will I be able to get out?"
That adds the additional cost of leasing space from landowners (read: farmers) who are accustomed to getting at least $5,000/year for a small footprint land lease agreement.
I am a technology analyist for a hedge fund and I must say that there is a buzz around the "new dot com" companies. However, for the sophisticated/value investor, it is never good enough to simply have a good idea - the company must be ready to capitalize on it. I see at least one company per week that has a brilliant idea but no strategy to make it profitable. The difference between the way I look at a business and the way VC firms look at a company is that they will initially accept poor mangement because they will require oversight and the ability to put some of their own people in place. Some hedge funds do this but they are often not the high-risk/high return types.
VC firms (and to a more important degree these days "angel investors") will get into a company for a good idea, a recognizable brand, a value-chain opportunity with other investments or for some more highly speculative reason. VC don't initially chase profits or earnings, they operate mainly outside of the realm of "fundamentals" by looking to capture as much of a company's ideas and future updise while accepting many (oft. deplorable) downside risks.
A quick note about hedge funds for people that are quick to label them as horrible groups that short stocks and cause companies to go down in flames: there are firms, like the one I work for, that do not short their investments (we invest with a company for the long-term and often help them with their second and third rounds of fundraising) and many don't get into death spiral warrents that cause companies to dilute their stock over and over (and lose current investors tons of money). Hedge fund is just a generic term for a private investment company - the ones that give "hedge fund" a bad name are a very small minority.
I was in a car audio shop once and asked the guy what the hell the cyclone was and he replied, "They use that thing to call elephants in Africa, You don't want that" You need a lot of space for the enclosure and it is likened to being "punched in the kidneys" when played.
Need more power?!??
Hyabusa! You can buy those or at your local Suzuki Dealer. Current top speed is limited at 189mph but there are countless people selling upgrades that delete that limiter. If you really want to pee your pants, there is the black/black "Limited" version. I would wear a yellow rain slicker if I had the all black 'busa.
By the way, the Hyabusa only has 160HP but it makes it up to 13,000 RPM (instead of probably 5,000 RPM in the V8 bike). Akin to F1 cars that rev up to 21,000 RPM. GIS
With the $2,000 (hell even a $600 one) you will have broadcast quality video vs. digital 8 looking homevideo out of the $200 ones. Buy a good bag, a can of airduster and a lens cleaning brush and your set with the good one.
Bit (ok maybe a Gbit) off topic, but in memory of Mitch:
"I think Pringles initial intention was to make tennis balls. But on the day that the rubber was supposed to show up, a big truckload of potatoes arrived. But Pringles is a laid back company. They said 'Fuck it. Cut em up.'" Mitch Hedberg
What happens if you open the door when the elevator is not on that floor? It looks like it would open right up. If that is the case, what would happen if you opened the door, and by accident dropped something into the tube? Would it get sucked up by the fan and blow out the system? Do the doors lock when the capsule isn't on that floor?
(sorry for two posts in two minutes; my friend and I just got to discussing this sweet contraption)
is a bad idea because it is already Slashed. Perhaps submitters should reward those who actually read the article by not including the video in the description. Not to whore, but here is the mirrordot mirror of the video. It is pretty slow moving, but the ride looks really smooth.
In Windows, from the task manager "processes" tab just right click on the process and select "Set Affinity..." I'm running a dual processor right now and I can force any process to run on either CPU. This is very useful for multi-tasking, not just SMP programs.

Pfft. I would be more impressed if it was all running on MSDE.
The FTC must love Viagra and degrees from unaccredited universities.

Also, Phoenix Gold has had the "cyclone" available for years.

Welcome to the new Googledot. Enjoy your stay!
Ditto. I have had AVG installed on this box for 2 years and I have never had a problem. *crossed fingers*

They might be shooting themselves in the foot by making xbox 360 so good. Run Linux for computing XBox 360 (=> PS3) for games.
We can live underground or in the Ocean. Jimmy Hoffa is already exploring those areas.
My friend made one out of a trash can that he named Sir Beers Alot
Apparently I'm too PC, but the terms are now underdeveloped, developing and developed countries.
Should we not let the World Bank/IMF/U.N. come up with new language is another question all together...
HA HA You Suck At Teh Manager!!onei!

3CCDs just look better than 1CCD systems (videolink - resizes your window) You can even see the difference in the lcd screens of the camcorders if you compare the two. The Panasonic's image is a standout in both color and clarity. I have a Panasonic FZ20 digital cam (nice shot - link resizes your window) and I can attest to the quality of the Leica lens on there as well.
Sony uses Symbian OS (linux variant) in the P800 and P900 smartphones.
I run SMP under "Pro" - can't do that in "home"

"Burlap interior" I'm itching just thinking of that! And no radio? Sir, you have described 65 miles of hell!

Bottom of page: "Spread Firefox is built on CivicSpace and Drupal..." looks like some program doesn't output proper html?
