    It would be lower as long as the rock isn't pumice. When in the boat the weight of the rock displaces the same weight worth of water, which since water is less dense than the rock is greater in volume than the rock is. when removed from the boat and thrown in the water, it only displaces the amount of water at the volume of the rock, so it is displacing less water hence the water lever of the lake lowers slightly. If the rock is pumace however the water level stays the same since pumice floats and is therefore less dense than water, so it displaces the same amount weather it is in the boat or not.

    2^128 = 3.4028236692093846346337460743177e+38 Umm... 3 yowserbytes? Actually its only 2. (the larger the number the greater discrepancy between the 1k=1000 number system and the 1k=1024 that computers use at this size number there is nearly a 75% discrepancy between the two)

    But Even those kinds of windows only cause a signal loss of around 6dB. A wall or floor will cause a much greater signal loss.

    Spending time and resources to make a product do less. I wonder if there also going to program in some extra secutity holes in that version for good measure? I can hear the announcement in the MS offices now......

    Take a look at the sun, and you'll see a huge clean efficient way of getting about 90-99% of the chemical energy stored in molecules


    I think the solution here is obvious. We're on earth, there's waste on the earth, and we have a nice clean sun where noone is living. Lets put all our garbage there!

    Unfortunatly "Computer security enthusiest" just dosn't have the same appeal. On the otherhand that may be a good thing, not being as appealing to people who just want to be like "|00| 47 M3! M3 31337 |-|4C|3r" while not really discouraging those who are really interested in the subject.

    What about having the reactor in the base station, and the rovers moving back to it to recharge? or better yet, give it a full service station, imcluding solar panel cleanings, battery recharge. Also why dont the rover have some kind of wipers to stop the buildup?

    Microsoft had an "independant" tester do some tests, and even they found the total costs for a web server were LESS for linux. (other services were however found to cost more in total cost however)

    I perfer the Open office because its cross platform, as I have a dual-boot machine(well 5x boot) and though I have MS office (needed to get the formatting perfect for those perfectionist profs that ding you for being 1/16 of an inch off in margins (prof required documents be submitted electronicly in .doc format), and for combinations of drawing+text wich open office still dosnt have good compatability with (the text stays in place while the images get all scrunched so they dont match up at all)Its been getting better but is not perfect.

    How bout an epesode where the quantum leap guy becomes captain archer, and he cant leap again till he saves earth, and he has a list of crew that must survive (wich is why he risks the ship to save them)..... Or maybe that allready happened.... Thats it! In the last epesode they will reviel that this is one long Quantum leap!

    Maybe if Bush didn't invade Iraq, he could have given that 87 Billion to Nasa instead.

    Just have the additional astronaughts sent into space (or robots) with that money catch some space junk and throw it down at saddam. (and gain a little speed from launching the object)

    Except that bandwidth is different than latency. Lets say we had infinate bandwidth between mars and earth. The time to transfer it would still be a few minutes. (due to the speed of light) The time to get a cirtain amount of information between mars and earth would be: transit time + (Amount of data / Bandwidth(per second))

    I was a ride attendant at an amusment park and one day a group of people decided to set themselves on fire while in line for the ride I was running. (this was during a religous event that was happening in the park that week, and is the busiest week in the park)

    But they will file suit against your property; there are plenty of court cases like "US v. $17.254.38" and I'll let you guess who wins.

    They had a guy on jepardy just the other day that was the prosecuter in a lawsuit against 2000lbs of caviar. he gave a short blerb about it on the show, so yes it happens. He also stated that in the end after the case was won the caviar was destroyed.(burned)

    My family has two, but then agian weve also been in robot combat compititions. (not fighting the mindstorm robots) They were one of the greatest toys ever made, with two combined sets I could make a robot that would always go twards the light(or run away from it) Its sad to see it go, I feel that it is a great loss, as it is a very affordable robotics kit (it only cost about $200)and a great learning toy, and it did not require you to be rich to buy, losing this is a great loss to robotics. I hope someone comes up with something similar soon.
