Who should be motivated to port Photoshop to Linux? Uh, how about ADOBE? You know, the people who have access to the code? The only ones who CAN port it? Running an unmodified Windows executable with Wine is not a port.
You stand while you play Metroid? You do know that those Wii Would Like To Play commercials are just ads, not visual user guides, right? (In other words: you are allowed to sit.)
I think that any/all of the Thief games would be great on the Wii. Picking locks, knocking people out, aiming the bow, everything would be just great... I can dream.
All pretty good recommendations. I use agave nectar rather than honey or syrups, and xylitol in place of sugar. Stevia has an aftertaste that is kinda weird, though.
I think you totally misunderstood my point. People have argued against using the SD card slot because it's supposedly not fast enough to load ROMs from, but in reality it is. I don't own an SD card cart for GBA, but I have seen them. I'm not talking about pirating Wii Virtual Console games, I'm talking about a practical, inexpensive way to expand system memory using an expansion slot that already exists in the Wii hardware. We can copy ROMs to the SD card, so why not just allow the Wii menu to see them stored there, and so therefore we could load and run them directly from the card??? I didn't mention anything about pirating Wii games...
I think it makes more sense for them to allow loading games from the SD card, but they shot that down too. I'd rather not have a bulky drive hanging off the back of my Wii. Kinda ruins the small form factor idea. And the fact that there is a nearly useless SD card slot in the Wii, that just annoys me. There's no reason it couldn't load a tiny ROM from the SD card, even copying it to RAM first, if it needed to... But if the GBA can play ROMs off of SD cards (which it can, if you buy the appropriate adapter), then so too can the Wii.
He obviously sold out. Money matters to some people; more to some than others...
From TFA:
"For me personally, Linux in its formative years was about, 'The reason you should pick Linux is, it's not Microsoft,'" said Carmony.
"I'm beyond that," he said, which is why he said he approached Microsoft a year and a half ago to explore possible deals.
This speaks volumes about Kevin Carmony, and frankly, I was shocked that it wasn't the other way around.
All of this begs the question: who's next? I'm interested to see what Shuttleworth has to say about this. I wonder if he's going to try and steal away the Linspire developers... This time, maybe I'll support him.
You ever try xylitol as a sugar substitute? It's a sugar alcohol extracted from some kinds of vegetables and fruits, and it tastes quite close to sugar. But it's often found in toothpaste and gums and such, because it's actually GOOD for your teeth. It's such a strange feeling, eating something that tastes good and isn't damaging my teeth.
Think about this - if every PS3 shipped included a Blu-Ray DVD movie, then their numbers would automatically be higher than the HD-DVD, since neither the 360 nor the Wii ship with HD-DVD, nor do they ship with any movies at all.
You're right. And that's the thing: My gaming console of choice (Wii) shipped with a GAME in the box. Imagine that! A gaming system shipping with a game in the box...
Sony removed all confusion about the purpose of the Playstation 3 when they chose to pack a movie in the box.
And WHERE THE HELL is Dungeon Explorer and Super Mario World? They were both supposed to be launch window titles, with the latter supposedly being a launch day title...
Owners of the Nintendo Wii reported that when they used the Nintendo remote and wrist strap, as instructed by the material that accompanied the Wii console, the wrist strap broke and caused the remote to leave the user's hand.
Umm, the wrist strap does not break UNLESS the remote has already left the user's hand...
Nintendo should counter-sue the parents because they raised defective children.
Phantasy Star Online for Xbox did include a USB adapter that you plug into one of the memory card slots on the controller. This works in xlinksbox (homebrew port of xlinks) as well. You can also plug in a USB thumb drive and have it formatted as FATX to use as a memory card.
That is exactly why people should NOT be letting go of the *video game controller.*
Playing a bowling video game is not the same as playing bowling in real life. Not even close. So don't let go of the damn controller.
You were probably trying to be funny, but the truth is that the employees (at least the night crew who stock shelves) were not allowed to get one (not at this WalMart anyhow). I would expect the managers and higher-ups did get one if they wanted them though.
The WalMart in my city received all of 6 PS3s. I didn't go to the launch (can't afford it, want a Wii not a PS3, etc) but I have friends who work there. The 6 people waited all the way from noon until 8am. The same WalMart claims to have 50 Wiis.

Be careful if you're playing the mansion levels in RE:UC.

He *WAS* a genuinely interesting man? Don't you mean IS?

Artists don't receive much profit from CD sales either, but it makes them look good, which hopefully books them some more dates.
Supporting the bands you like is great, but I'm sure most of them would agree that they actually receive more money from ticket sales than CDs.
Har har har.

CVG: Is Nintendo considering releasing a hard drive to bolster the Wii's memory for all this new content?
Nintendo: No

I bet there will be a Dual Shock Suxasses controller coming out soon. Direct from Sony. It's gonna be nice to see them eat their words. Again.
You can't write in your own answers, no, but you can write-in your own questions.

I just want to congratulate the team who took over and pushed through with the vision I once had.
I'm happy back on debian, but this is a good milestone that I am happy they [will eventually] have reached.
I agree. 3-5 per week is ridiculously slow.

If they were smart, they would... At least, if I were in their shoes, I'd be slowly releasing my stock on eBay, and laughing all the way to the bank.
It's called YourSelf Fitness, and it isn't so much a game as a virtual trainer, I guess... It's strange.

Yes, if we hurry.
