Well. If you got a provider with good GPRS prices, like a monthly fee, it would work. Ofcourse, you need to stream at a bitrate your gprs could handle. im not sure what that is, but my gprs can handle only slow 3 kilobytes a second, but i think ive read it can do more:)
well. one that i remember, i was skipping school and i went to a friend of me with my harddrives in my bag, when i came there my old 30gb maxtor was dead:( talk about a punishment..:P
ive had several data loss that a lot of code ive written went away, but the big bragger i am i got a lot of it back from my friends:)
at this lan party i went to i was in a hurry so i couldnt put in more than one spacer to get my motherboard in my case, this caused several crashes who fucked up my disk.
oh well, i think thats about it, thinking about all the years it hasnt happened too much bad:)
hehe, its good that we get more good books about installing/using linux, then maybe linux will get more accepted by people/comapnies (its already came a long way tho..).. cool that 70 year old moms use linux for sure;)
why do you all guys complain that people who do this have no life? why cant they do this for fun when they want? i think the result was pretty amazing. and you guys shouldnt be on slashdot, you dont belong here, im sure 99% of the slashdot users enjoyed this article;)
cool:) interesting that you could actually find so many open wifi spots.. props:) although if you only need simple stuff you could use gprs if you need internet in such places, it works OK for text mail, irc, etc..:) its a little dangerous to have a irc client on your cell phone, you tend to use irc whereever i go, but i try to avoid to do that mostly;)
how many times havent google made finding stuff on the internet a lot easier? they dont have to give anything back.. but oh well, its cool that they decided to do this tho..
people please dont whine..winex/codega is really good, but you cant expect it to work with everything! i havent tryed the newest but had the one before that, and on my 3ghz it really felt like windows when i tryed running game.. people that complain about linux cant run your windows games: you cant just expect that linux will support games written for other oses...
who the hell needs that much email storing? you woould store a lot of spam for that;) anyway, i dont see why they cant store their mail at their own computer too.. if they wanted to access it some other place you always got mutt and ssh;)
i think external tv tuners are almost impossible for linux users to use, but most of the internal ones are fine. i myself got an hercules smart-tv stereo card, although i cant use it right now because im waiting for the motherboard i returned 4 weeks ago:/
wow.. this was in time, ie has been the same old thing the past 5 years or so.. but anyway, i believe its just best to use mozilla or opera in windows;)
argh.. ive been a linux user for a long time now without touching windows for a while, but lately ive tryed installing windows 2000, and its a pain in the ass, virus, problems, unstability etc... now i remember why i switched to linux in the first place....
Yes.. The EU parlament does it again.. Im glad Norway is not a member of EU. Altough that doesnt help a lot, those politics just seem to follow.. Vote no for eu:)
