machina: the machines of god was such an underrated album. now finally it gets exposure on slashdot, but i think it is a little late! it will never catch mellon collie! i'll bet half the people here have never even heard of machina ii, even though it was an internet-only release ripped from vinyl and distributed for free to the general public. a damn good album billy! keep up the good work in zwan.
99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It's all over and I'm standin' pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenier
Just to prove the world was here...
And here is a red balloon
I think of you and let it go
Yes, that's what RFC stands for. Slashdot took over the commenting aspect of all RFCs, so please just post any comments you might have about RFC 3533 below.

Spam Meeting Wrap-up

but seriously, many slashdot readers are actually romantically involved with beings besides robots. i thought i'd add some suggestions for those wanting to introduce some real massage into their love lives:
how are you doing? remember me? i just wanted to let you know that i've had you on my buddy list for 5 years now, since we met that one summer at school. i check your away message every day; i know a lot about you! steve sounds like a great guy, i hope you two are happy. also, sorry you had to write that long paper last week, i hope that you got it finished. i saw you were up late, i was checking your idle time! love the web page, jill, those are some nice pictures of your spring break trip. you are so hot in the red bikini. see you around, and IM me sometime! my name is MadWriter33.
I coded the <api> per Appendix 2 of the Digitalk manual, information from
the SDK, and looking at WINDOWS.H. I get an invalid parameter error when
invoking the method.
I have both a Windows question and a related Smalltalk question:
The fourth parameter to the call is suppose to be a flag that according to
the SDK manual is relevant if I am SETting a value in the call, i.e. set
the screen saver on. There is no reference to what it should be set to if
I am doing a GET call. I have set it to a null string and to a 0 to no
avail. Does anyone know what it should be set to, or if in fact it needs
to be set ??
The related Smalltalk question is again about this parameter again.
Appendix 2 goes over several matching parameters types between Smalltalk
and C. In the SDK and in WINDOW.H that fourth parameter is coded as hex
constant 0x0001 or a 0x0002. Does anyone know how it should be coded
in Smalltalk ?? can you point to example in the base classes ??
Can anyone point me to some further documentation besides Appendix 2 and 4
of the Digitalk manuals about <api> calls and this problem of parameter
matching ??
While a fax machine is completely consumed while receiving a fax, a computer can do other things while receiving spam.
dear coitus,
this is untrue in general. although it may seem that your computer is doing more than one thing at a time, in reality the processor is simply switching between programs very quickly. however, in the multi-processor sense, i give you props for a correct statement.
I have read Kavalier and Clay and agree that it deserves the awards it has won, but a review of this book has no place on a technology-related site like Slashdot. Not even remotely. Please stay on-topic.
judging by the quality of comments so far for this story, i think that slashdot posters should be required to read the book in question before commenting on its book review. a little yes/no check box would do the trick:
Have you read the book being reviewed? yes/no
it would be like those web sites that check your age to make sure you are over 13 so that they can collect your information. this honor system is proven to work; there are no records of anyone under 13 selling their privacy on the internet since that law was implemented.
i read on slashdot today that cowboy neal developed an orgasmic-LED (OLED) camera. this is a big deal and definitely something we can use to add some spice to our photo shoots when we have nasty sex, like every day and night, baby. apparently the technology is not very mature as of yet; they are past puberty, but still don't last for very long before ejaculating. i can't wait to take some hot shots of me playing with your cooter while the orgasmic LEDs watch from the night table! with 3.1 bright steamy megapixels, baby, we'll capture down to the last lubed pube with frightening accuracy - much better than mom's old polaroid that we've been using. so baby, dear, stay wet, i'll be home soon with our new toy!
when we met on-line the other day i felt some new and exciting, a feeling i haven't had for a long time. i've been lonely ever since laquesha left me for the slashdot guy, cowboy neal. i was cooking dinner, alone, (three hot dogs, with chili, slaw, mayo, ketchup and mustard) when the bell rang on my outlook saying i received your e-mail. your poem was beautiful, like your back (sorry i was looking at it while we were in the sauna, please be flattered not offended). so, i wanted to ask if we could see each other again this friday? i know of a great place where we could pick up some biscuits and sweet tea, some chips and maybe some diet, to wash down the buffalo chips, and maybe we can rent a movie and bring it back to my place?? (fingers crossed;) IM me or e-mail soon!
Please supply an IP address for my left nut.
Sincerely,
Letter

Don't forget the other question: where does this leave RHCP? Are they going to be stuck under the bridge with this new release?
